I think the character thing is going to be similar to Pirates of the Caribbean online, in which you will make your own nerdy character and then meet characters from the show.

Sure this will fall flat on its face, but I'll still play it. It's a Doctor Who MMO for Christ's sake!
If they don't include any of the actual canon characters, this might have a chance.
That might sound dumb, but think about it. If you can't play as the Doctor, people will rage. And in MMOs, you can never play as the storyline character.
Thus, if you can "create a character" your own, non-canon Time Lord or whatever, it will be good. Also, I hope they give you the option of using weapons.
This is a bad idea and they should feel bad.
This is going to either be very bad or very good.
