Lady Gaga profits off the victim mentality of LGBT people.
Though speaking from experience concussions aren't fun.

pretty sure she profits off of record sales
Muse was once forced to lip-sync one of their songs for a performance, so they just switched who played what for laughs (guitarist/vocals played the drums, bassist played the guitar and keyboard, drummer played the bass and vocals) while making awkward faces throughout, and well, this is how it turned out.

It's especially hilarious because Matt Bellamy didn't even hit the drums at 3:14.
This is the best one I think, look at Matts hands at the start. There's another of Sing for Absolution, and during the chorus Chris swallows his mic.
if not even muse can take their own music seriously, why should anyone else ahhah
That guy was to blame. I've seen people like him, they get their hands on something long and swing it around without a care in the world. Next thing you know they're sticking it in someone's face or hitting them with it. When she went backstage I bet someone asked her if she's okay and she replied "Potato?"
Lol lip syncing
It's funny cos apparently she has a strict no-lipsync policy
Did you even look at the video? It's pretty obvious she'll be perfectly fine. It's not like she can't afford getting some of the worlds best medical services.
Did you? Right after she gets hit you can tell it dazes her immediately, she starts swaying like she's going to fall down. Also, a concussion isn't "perfectly fine."
Most musicians have enough talent to sound good live as they do studio, she's obviously an exception.
I bet she fakes her piano playing too.
Lol'd at all the people feeling clever over the lip synching. Btw, when you're a pop star that has to remember and perform rigorous choreography at the same time as singing for an extended period of time, you tend to get out of breath. When it comes to large pop performances lip synching is very common because of how winded even very fit, high-endurance people get from putting on a very high-energy performance.

So can both sing and play piano very well in-person. There's a difference between a pop entertainment performance and a musical performance. Granted, I expect this kind of behavior towards one of the few artists in the mainstream pop music culture now that doesn't autotune all of her songs, can play instruments, and is a successful songwriter, simply because she understands that she's an entertainer (an image, a brand, Lady Gaga is a fictional gimmick for theatrical performances), not just a songwriter, or pianist (which is who the person behind Lady Gaga is).
"Derp, she looks ridiculous and attracts attention, she must be an airheaded slut"
No, she just knows how to make money, and is quite innovative and successful in doing so
Most people do not want lip syncing when they go to watch their favorite band/artist.
Entertainment or a music experience?
I'm sorry, but a LOT of the pop performances are lip synced. The entertainment factor is still high because it feels real.
And it's definitely not just pop stars.
Pfft live performances these days are a fucking joke, lip syncing because you get a little out of breath??
Look at this brilliant motherfucker:

He's sweating his hole out and he's singing powerfully and playing the piano for real.
Nowadays people want a more "visual" experience. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but that's what they pay for.
It's not like she can't really sing.

just watched the video and that guy removing the pole is an absolute moron.

you know who never lip syncs and courageously does her avant-garde shit live
Bjork
What the fuck happened?
I watched the video twice and didn't see anything
She was headbanging, did a little pose, then got off stage
WHAT HAPPENED
Ohhh god
I see it now
When she started to get off the stage I thought it already happened
you know who never lip syncs and courageously does her avant-garde shit live

jonny's telekinetic guitar playing was what really put radiohead on the charts

I hate to say it, as much as I dislike Lady Gaga, but even Pavorotti did it, not to mention loads of classic artists on Top of the Pops going decades back.
The excuse for Pav though, was the cold conditions made it impossible for him to perform at the time, which makes sense if you understand how hard it is (at least have a educated guess) to actually perform Nessun Dorma.
Still feels like cheating and a cop out, though.
believe me you're not the average consumer of mass media. most people want to be entertained when they go to concerts. whether or not a performer is singing live is a nonissue
That guy is allowed to mime to provide a show, though I'm pretty sure he doesn't.
Lady Gaga isn't.
why are people saying she's lip syncing? seriously?
the video is so low quality you can't make out her mouth, you can't tell if the sound is coming from her because it's going into a microphone and coming out of speakers everywhere, and she even pauses for a second when she gets hit on the head. i'm not a lady gaga fan but are you people serious?

I dunno, sounds to me like the pause is supposed to be in the song. I don't think you continue on singing if you get hit on the head so hard that you have a concussion, but I don't think you'd be walking away like that either so I'm really not sure.

Except Bjork is awful.
So you're telling me that a popstar, who has a tiring travel schedule, who uses electronically produced music with no real band playing, you're telling me that she's lip syncing?
Micheal Jackson.

I just figured her voice was layered in the song, it's not uncommon.

nope. i checked out the orignal song. she skips two whole words right after the bonk
"judas is the demon" becomes "judas....demon"
confirmed she's not lip syncing now shut up people

Like Rusty said, if you actually listen to the original song, you'll realise the pause isn't supposed to be there, and she also sounds worse than the studio recording
