I love this game. I hope to see some other mods by these guys.
Am I the only one who [sp]ran around for about 25 minutes during the final boss not realizing that the leg supports were made out of wood?[/sp]

[editline]01:36AM[/editline] Also I'd like to say that this was an awesome mod, Valve quality if not a bit better.
WHoa, this games was really awesome what does actually happen in the end when you [sp]choose to leave? I was sure something terrible would happen so I didn't choose for that[/sp]

This mod was great. [sp]I decided to run out of the building, and go killed.[/sp] What would of happen if I chose the other "path"?
go back and do it again because that's the wrong ending
Oh and a question, what am I supposed to do when I get into that big brownish room where there is no way out and theres only a locked metal door on the other side of the room?
You mean that hallway with a door on each end? Have you tried walking to one door, then walking back?
Is there anyway to play this without ep2?
Download Source SDK Base 2007 from steam under tools. I think you need at least Half Life 2 though [editline]03:41PM[/editline]
Download Source SDK Base 2007 from steam under tools.
This mod was great. [sp]I decided to run out of the building, and go killed.[/sp] What would of happen if I chose the other "path"?
You (major spoilers -->) [sp]find that scientist guy (the guy who talked to you throughout the game) and find out he has some kind of device that can not yet control people's mind, but can fuck with it. You need to defeat him buy destroying the device, he will occasionally try to fuck with you by letting you go through some kind of hallucinations, but then suddenly that scary girl appears (the one you see throughout the game) and gets you out of it every time. After you destroyed that device thing, you get hurt and lie on the ground. You see that scientist guy coming to you and suddenly that girl appears behind the scientist. The scientist tries to reason with the girl (I assume he brought her to that state?), but the girl lifts up the scientist with some kind of telekinesis and smashes the scientist to the walls until he dies and shatters to pieces. Then she comes closer to you and says 'Thank you' in a weird voice. Then I don't know what happens, screen gets white I believe and credits start[/sp]
Looks pretty impressive for a free game :D Will download it!
Fucking amazing work. I loved it all. I really thought I had balls when it said to not look behind me, and I didn't. I mean, I really felt manly, because the urge was just so powerful to look, but I didn't. Also, when I got the chance to leave the hospital, I said fuck it, you put me through this shit, I'm going to rip your head off and shit down your neck. I didn't even bother leaving the elevator. The second the doors opened I pressed the button again and down I went. I haven't had a boss fight like that in a long time. Awesome.
The voice acting is also fucking amazing, I would never expect it from a mod.
Those lads who worked on the mod seriously deserve some money for it.
I think this mod should be available on steam :3: Also, future valve employees? A valve horror game could be nice, just a bit less cheap scares and more penumbra-ish fear :q:
Fuck it if I ever find a locked door again I'm just gonna ragequit. I'm glad the ending was somewhat rewarding cause if it wasn't I would have wasted my time acting like an idiot.

Reggie Fils-Amie... He's so silly. :ghost:
I'm to scared to try this, I never play any horror games ever
I played the game and beat it in one night 2 days ago, on the first day of school. It was dark and awesome, but at the ending, I knew that I couldn't escape the nightmare house, so I didn't choose the first option. Then later, I played the end again to see what would happen. I simply loved the game, I had no idea it came out on the 22nd, I thought it was out for a while before I played it. I didn't even hear about it. I shat tons of bricks, and it was late and I was tired. I beat the game in the pitch black.
If you haven't downloaded it already, Do it! You won't regret it.
I wasn't going to. Yet you convinced me, so I'll have at it. [editline]02:09AM[/editline] I was going to play it but I just get a unicode.dll error.
I finished this, and it's easily the best mod I've ever played.

I'm too afraid to download and play it.
I'm too afraid to download and play it.
Do it.
Do it now.
The quality and effort put into this project is truly "top of the line." These guys deserve some credit for their hard work.
I still have nightmares about penumbra, but i have to try this out.
Fucking awesome. Alot of borrows from shit like fear, but some of the original parts were genuinely scary. I loved the
Soldier / mannequin
[editline]12:07PM[/editline] ^ Motherfucker.
That bit wasn't original either. There's a part in Condemned which does the same thing. Despite all the copied effects, it's a great mod. [sp]I particularely liked the subtle signs of Emily helping you throughout the game[/sp]. That was a nice touch.
That bit wasn't original either. There's a part in Condemned which does the same thing. Despite all the copied effects, it's a great mod. [sp]I particularely liked the subtle signs of Emily helping you throughout the game[/sp]. That was a nice touch.
Yeah. About a third of the way through, I figured out basically what was going on. Only had a few details off, but everything else was right. [sp]The only thing I got wrong was who Doc Romero was. I figured he was either the cause of everything, or that he was just a hallucination. I knew that there were two forces fighting each other in the hospital though. Emily was doing certain things, like showing you how to get the door open with the Delta Mannequin and showing you where to go or telling you about what was going on through the intercom.[/sp] [sp] I also like how they did Alpha's death. Delta just disappeared then you find him dead on the floor later, Charlie went crazy and you have to shoot him, and Bravo got pulled under the door and ripped apart. But Alpha's was the best.[/sp] The game had a good combination of action and suspense. The only part that you could really consider "Too much action" was [sp]The fight through the storage areas. But even that was done well because you could hear the others screaming and shooting and because you could never stop to let the flashlight recharge, so you had to keep going in the dark.[/sp] [editline]04:08AM[/editline] Also, I thought Bravo was hysterical. He reminded me a lot of Griff and Caboose from Red Vs. Blue. "Thanks nice lady!" [editline]04:20AM[/editline] You know, if there were to be a third one, which if these guys got just a little more help would be beyond perfect, a Co-op side Campaign that intersects the main one would be interesting. Like, you're running around, you get trapped in a room, then you see two people come by, look in the window, then go running off, then a moment later a door opens. In coop, you would be the two people on the other side of the window, and like, you'd flip a switch that lets him out. Or reverse it where the single-player has you open the door. I remember a few games doing stuff like that and it made the game feel more personal and involved. ([sp]Maybe you could play as Alpha and Bravo, who it turns out survived somehow. You never actually see Bravo die, and Alpha was still somewhat alive when you head down the elevator.[/sp]
