You don't need a License to play Paintball. Only to own the guns. (Not too sure about, but I definitely know you don't need one to play).

You will need a Firearms Permit to own Airsoft/BB guns.

Some asshole just had to use an Airsoft gun to threaten people and ruin it for all of Australia.

Not in the United States, The Orange tips are required for sellers and for shipping, and is the only purpose of them. California may be the only exception to this rule

You don't see BB Guns with orange tips (Well, some do, but most Don't) They're no more real of a firearm than a decent Airsoft

If you're heavily into Airsoft I don't see a problem with it, but I'm not, while I'd like to have that nice 98k Airsoft Rifle, I would rarely shoot it and wouldn't do any Airsoft battles with it. So I'd just go and buy a real 98k, and you can get them easily under $500
