Or is it just the usual 'fuck the commoners' opinion of the politicians?
The conservatives who are in power now are known for liking the middle - upper class more than the working class, which is why the university fees have rissen, and benefits for the poor such as EMA have been taken away. Labour who were in power before were the opposite, they invented the NHS, made college free and just tax the hell out of the rich
Bollocks.
Is gas (LNG) common in the UK? And are they are any subsidization of gas cars? Or electric cars?
I am not 100% sure on this but you do get a bit from the government towards the LPG conversion on your car but you still have to pay a fair bit from your own pocket. The main issue is for some people I know it takes up a lot of boot space or something? LPG pumps are becoming more and more common though here is all the pumps in just my county http://www.getlpg.org.uk/stations/lancashire
He's digging into the things we NEED to live our lives here in the UK - Hospitals (+NHS), Transport, Public Service. While Executives in the councils are paid extortionate amounts from the taxpayer's pocket.
Because of cuts in the NHS budget my mum couldn't get a patient a hospital bed as there wasn't any, and I think he was supposed to be sectioned under the mental health act.
Here is west America it's 3.65 for diesel and 3.10 for gas.

But with a conversion being around £2,000 and the price of LPG going up, you would have to own the car a lot of years for it to be worth it
...and I might not be able to afford the third year of my uni course because so many selfishly cuntish universities are bumping the fees right up to the allowed £9,000... YEAH THANKS CAMERON THAT HELPS EVERYONE.
No, you signed a contract when you started your course that means your fees stay the same for the full length of the course.
Sucks to be you Brits. Made me feel how lucky it is to have $3.49 to $3.69 per gallon gasoline prices over here in California.
Just as I'm learning to drive... It takes 15 minutes for me to get to college via car, but 55 minutes by Bus. ¬¬
[img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/816843b00955ac672ff90a419bb658de.png[/img_thumb]
James May: "or to save money, you can fuel the car with vintage whiskey"
That's pretty expensive, I'm getting ~£2000 for a 2010 corsa.
Jesus Christ on a bicycle, who's running your insurance companies? The mafia? I mean, that's even more than you'll be spending on fuel per year unless you really really drive a lot. Is there no third party liability only option in the U.K.? I (German) am paying EUR 350 per year for my 90hp Volvo for 3rd party. But even comprehensive cover would probably cost me about half of what you guys are paying.
I know someone who had an LPG conversion, they DID have it in a Land Rover but it still took up a huge space in the boot. It's a pretty expensive conversion as people have said and it only pays for itself over a matter of years. But you don't have to pay 200% of the natural gas price over to the government to pay for their fuck-ups, so buy yourself a 2011 car with a big boot and convert it and you might just cheat them of some of your hard-earned cash lol.
That's fucked up. Our dependence on oil is completely fucked up. Why are we using such a environmentally dangerous chemical when there are so many alternate solutions out there that are not even remotely as destructive? Unfortunately it's not like anyone can do anything since the fucking oil companies have pretty much everyone by the balls. Anyone that tries creating an alternate fuel source or an alternate means of production ALWAYS ends up getting silenced by the big oil companies. It's fucking bullshit. You know how apparently it's a breakthrough to create a vehicle that has a 100MPG fuel range? Well no, it's not. I can GUARANTEE that we already have EVERY piece of technology to completely rape that fuel economy and make vehicles that can travel much further with less emissions using less fuel than the ignorant bodies today could have ever imagined. I want to fucking burn down every single one of the fucking big oil headquarters and beat everyone in charge over there with a blunt object.
I'd rather have utilitarian vehicles run on fuels such as bio-diesel leaving sports cars unbridled access to petrol.
but with a conversion being around £2,000 and the price of LPG going up, you would have to own the car a lot of years for it to be worth it
that's why you buy a car with a pe-installed LPG kit, http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?s=705&p=&d=0&min=&max=&y1=&y2=&txt=&px=&xsl=list&pagesize=15&filter=TP&o=q&pc= also LPG kits come in stages IIRC, like a starter kit can be a couple of hundred depending on the car, whilst the kit with everything can be more
Just an update, David Cameron has said because of the crisis in Libya, the fuel prices will rise another 5p within the next few weeks, as well as the 5p tax rise in April
I live in the middle of fucking no where, the car is the only thing that can get me to work and back, buses don't stop close enough and are irregular. Stop the god damn taxes
Makes me laugh when Cameron raises fuel prices and says we all need to make sacrifices. I don't see him ditching his Bentley or any of the shit he has. He bikes to places, and has a car follow him with his things .
