The driver in the video came back for 20 points.
So a friend of mine is telling me that the reason nobody is helping here is because they are afraid of being accused of pedophilia.
What kind of fucking bullshit is that?
funnies
i feel bad for laughing considering the circumstances...
The way they just walk past the girl, it's almost as if they think it's a joke or something.
The people who rated it funny are so ~RebelliouS~
Oh my god, I was viewing this thread with the song "Ling, Ting, Tong".

Anyway, all of those bystanders should be shot for not even getting medical help for the damn person. It sucks that this is the world we live in where you can't even depend on your fellow cityfolk in case you have your fucking guts strewn across the pavement. Sick fucks.

Your ignorance is completely uncalled for, get out of this thread please.
Now think that the girls impression about other people is fucked up. She may have seen the other people just walking by, not caring about her. She may have lost all hope to meet other people because of this tragic accident.
Why was she wondering around alone like that
Horrible parents
I would call an ambulance, but I wouldn't run over to help them... It'd be too fucking disturbing to see. Too big of a responsibility. An ambulance call would be completely adequate.
What the fuck is wrong with people?
Multiple reasons:
1. It's china, people are used to this stuff.
2. China is filled with poverty, people have to work 24/7 and don't have time to help.
3. There was pretty much 0 chance she would survive after that, especially with Chinese hospitals.
Also, typical Facepunch. You guys would probably lynch people who disagreed with you. Hot damn. The people that didn't help the girl had their reasons.
quoted from another site
"It isn’t ignoring, it’s not daring. If one were to encounter a Nanjing judge, one would be screwed.
"Nanjing judge" refers to the infamous 2006 case of a man named Peng Yu who helped a woman to the hospital after she had fallen only to have the old woman accuse him of knocking her down. The Nanjing judge in that case ultimately ruled that common sense dictated that only the person who hit her would take her to the hospital, setting a precedent that continues only further discourages and reinforces many Chinese people's wariness to help others in similar situations."
while it still comes out as being assholes the people may not help out of fear of prosecution
Yeah but... is a 2 year 2 month old girl going to press charges? Would the child's parents press charges against the person who helps?
I reeeeeealllly abhor this "dying person in the street? NOPE NOPE IT'S NONE OF MY BUSINESS I'LL JUST TURN DOWN THIS STREET HERE, I SWEAR I'M NOT JUST TRYING TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT" mentality some have...
There are no words.
I've always hated the Bystander effect but holy shit how can people be so careless?
Not saying I wouldn't help, I just wasn't aware that you're required by law to save someone who's dying.
You are truly a credit to society.

That's quite a bold statement. If you skipped a few minutes in the video you'd see she's still alive in a hospital looking just like any western hospital. And if you read the thread you'd know that she's in a coma, but might not survive, has most likely nothing to do with hospital.
Overall I find you post quite stupid, I mean what kind of explanation is "It's china, people are used to this stuff" and "2. China is filled with poverty, people have to work 24/7 and don't have time to help". Are you assuming everyone has once walked past a person in its pool of blood? And what does poverty and work has to do with freaking helping someone?
And FYI this happened in Hong Kong.
Very much stereotypes and assumptions in your post.
The van driver who hit the child is an asshole
Bystander effect at it's finest.
[editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
I imagine the first vehicle probably knew what was happening, he just didn't want to get in trouble. Then again, he's an idiot for not noticing she was right in front of him. Maybe it's just the Chinese stereotype of bad drivers. I'm in America yet sometimes I'll see Chinese drivers on the wrong lane.
The van driver who hit the child is an asshole
course recco disagrees with that, fuck off man
I see people calling stuff on pedestrians who didn't do anything and I am wondering, what should they do?
If you have no medical training most you can do is phone ambulance(which I'd assume was already done) and move on.
There's really nothing else you could do. Touching her or even talking to her might and probably would only worsen the situation.
You could help someone if they tripped and fell, not if half of their body is missing.
So what do you expect them to do? Move on or stop and watch? In either case you'd be screaming how bad they are. I really don't get it. Sure the drivers were assholes, but pedestrians were not.
If you saw a person who had half their body missing, lying on the street and in pain, what would you do? Call an ambulance and move on. A crowd does not help paramedics.
why the parents left a 3 year old kid walking like that?

ITT. 8 year olds with bigger mouths than they can handle.
She can just walk if off.
I can't believe the driver continued to drive and slowly run her with his back wheel after he already crushed her. Then those people ignoring her, then the second car... How can someone do that... How?
I was about to watch the video. Luckily, I read the comments first.
