I really don't understand how weight is such a sensitive issue for women.
it's only sensitive for fat women
women and fat women are two separate categories, please don't group them together.
I really don't understand how weight is such a sensitive issue for women.
Society makes it that way.
While they're overreacting, it's fair they should expect not to be insulted by their waiter unless they specifically did something wrong. It's just common courtesy, and the employee should have been more professional about it.
Those women should definitely lose some weight for their own personal well-being, but it's not the waiter's job to call them out on that.
I find it funny that when a word being used to describe someones appearance for too long it suddenly starts getting offensive, then it's replaced by a new word that doesn't sound offensive and repeat.

women are sensitive beings
I really don't understand how weight is such a sensitive issue for women.
It's almost like most women are self conscious about their appearance or something because they are berated for being considered ugly far more than men are.
I want to see the receipt, not because of the "fat girls" part, but more to see what humongous amounts of food they consumed
Or you could go to the source.......?, and yeah they ate horse loads, 2 cokes, 1 sprite and 3 things of fries, what fat asses
Edit: Dori if you couldn't tell I'm making fun of the guy I'm replying to and people in the thread saying they must of ate tons of food
Uh, I don't get why everyone's defending the restaurant, because this is a completely ridiculous that was in place, and sure it's not a disease, but that doesn't mean you should be called fat every time you go in public.
Did they overreact? Maybe. But they shouldn't have been treated like this, still.
I don't know guys I think I'd appreciate not getting called fat when I'm just trying to enjoy a day out
It's almost like most women are self conscious about their appearance or something because they are berated for being considered ugly far more than men are.
but they aren't
men are berated just as much
men just don't make an issue out of it because raaar we're men and we're strong
edit: fuck shit no this thread is going to turn in to equal rights or feminism or masculismsiam or something help
Dori is rating everybody dumb

MAYDAY MAYDAY TURN THE SHIP AROUND
Reminds me of how when I met new people I would put labels in my head rather than names until I get to know them better (the tall guy, the funny dude who sits in the corner, that really fucking nerdy kid)
And now this made me realize that I am a HORRIBLE PERSON HOW COULD I DO THAT
Fat people need to face up to the fact that pretty much everyone identifies them as a fat person above anything else. Contrary to rumour, you can't get fat unless you eat a lot, slow metabolism or not. They need to take ownership of the fact that they're responsible for being fat messes.
I guess the waiter was behaving very unprofessionally too and probably deserved discipline.
Or you could go to the source, and yeah they hate horse loads, 2 cokes, 1 sprite and 3 things of fries, what fat asses
In other words, the average portion of food on a single large dinner plate in most big chain restaurants...
Three "things of fries" doesn't sound fatty or a "horse load" at all to me, especially compared to what they've could have gotten, like a big burger or something with 2-3 sides, which has more fat and calories in it.
Hey, sometimes being a fat chick has its benefits. You could make money being a BBW model.

How men are berated is irrelevant and you're starting the shitstorm. They were offended in public and have a legit reason to be offended, it's not the usual first world problems kind of offence.

It's actually perfectly normal to do that. Your mind automatically labels people in a way that's easier to remember. It's a whole different story when you actually say or write that label out.

Exactly, I'm making fun of people in the thread and the guy I quoted thinking they must of ate a horse load to be called fat girls.
well that's kinda rude

Not everyone is responsible for being fat.
They may have some sort of medical condition, like a thyroid problem, that causes them to gain weight no matter if they eat very little or eat a lot.
I'm saying this because my late grandma's best friend had a medical condition that caused her to gain weight, and she had been dieting very excessively for years. Only after a visit to the doctors did she know what the problem really was.
I'm not saying the women in the story are this way, but you shouldn't generalize everyone who's fat as a slob who stuffs their face all day every day.
hypocritical
Well that was rather unpolite and unprofessional from the waiter but I don't think the restaurant should pay for it.
and then again, if you are fat, aknowledge the fact that you're going to be called fat.
I mean, I'd rather be called fat than chubby tubby stout overweight or whatever. I'd be more offended by that. If you think I'm fat, just say I am.
like, for an instance, calling blind people 'visually challenged'. I'd be mad, I'm blind, I know I am, just call me that.
women are sensitive beings
So is my wallet.
But I can't sue Steam every time they rape it.

Naaah, some people just have a easier time realizing that stuffing their faces with king-size deep-fried fast-food meals makes them fat, and some don't
Now guess whenever the women in this news story belongs to the former, or the latter category.
hypocritical
what does this even mean dude
i'm 'hypocritical' for thinking that the majority of people in this thread are socially and emotionally delayed because of how people are acting in this thread? ok

Has the restaurant / the server actually done anything wrong? Its not even defamation because its true..
Has the restaurant / the server actually done anything wrong? Its not even defamation because its true..
its basic social courtesy to not insult someone
how is this escaping you
Do you people go up to fat people and say "HEY FATTY, GO LOSE WEIGHT, BECAUSE YOU'RE FAT. YOU CAN'T CRY BECAUSE IT'S THE TRUTH!!!!"
Seriously, the way some of you are reacting, that's how I see you people in real life.
Has the restaurant / the server actually done anything wrong? Its not even defamation because its true..
It's pretty common practice to not insult your customers without cause. While these women are indeed obese, it's not up to the waiter to call them out on that.
