garry is already married, to his fans.
(hire me as PR guy thanks)
Oh and congrats Facepunch team for the success.
Also postal for all his hard work at keeping the rust forum at bay :v:
Isn't it also wife even if you're not married but do have a baby?
That's interesting to know.
I think that makes Garry a queen
Kind of a lame way to think imo, pretty much the whole team behind it matters, not just one guy. Kind of like in music when people talk about a band they usually refer to the singer only, i.e nirvana and kurt cobain.
It happens in games all the time. If anyone on the team is singled out by the press, often enough it is the president or producer of the studio rather than the team. If they are lucky, the creative directors get some kind of attention considering they are the ones that generally spearhead the direction of the entire project.
Then that Call of Duty level designer came along and got famous for no reason outside of being the guy who did all the public play tests.
So when will the baby be playing Rust?
According to Steam I have 346 hours in GMod (It's closer to 1000 really, I played mostly before hours were logged) and since getting Rust in December and really starting to play it after the new year I've got 98 hours as of this post, and I can see this game surpassing my "logged" GMod hours rather quickly. It's hard enough to make one game that can capture an audience's attention, especially as an indie dev, and you've got 2 now Garry/Facepunch. Congrats, and thank you.

who the fuck is kurt cobain

The only problem with that comparison is that Kurt Cobain really was Nirvana. A better example would be some of the pop stars nowadays that have their songs written for them and take a back seat in production.

All the people rating box look at his avatar and please try to understand the humour he's trying to make.
i bet garry regrets not charging more for gmod
All the people rating box look at his avatar and please try to understand the humour he's trying to make.
For the record, that guy has made that joke before. People might just be tired of it.
All the people rating box look at his avatar and please try to understand the humour he's trying to make.
well i still don't know who the fuck that dude is
That being said, why would you wanna join the screaming, pre-pubescent masses that currently inhabit the Rust subforum? If you've been anywhere inside that place you'll know what I'm talking about.
This is literally what turned me away from Rust. In the first couple of weeks of the Rust subforum going live, I followed things with a lot of interest. But very quickly it became a mass of young folk screaming and whinging, carrying on about nonsense and making endless lets plays... I don't know, I guess my sixth sense kicked in and convinced me to bail out, and from what I've seen of the playerbase to date, I'm mostly glad I did.
I follow some people on Youtube who have been playing it recently and it DOES look like a lot of fun, but only with a friend and there's no way my best friend could be duped into play it so... no Rust for me.
But congratulations on the success Garry.

I still remember the very first weeks when it wasnt in early access and the alpha was "free", overall it was good and people were very friendly
Now its a massive fest of kiddos screaming at the top of their lungs from what i have seen as well one of the most toxic player base i truly have ever seen ( just look at the rust forum)
Still its great its having a huge success
Good job MaxofS2D, pat yourself on the back.
Then consider my congratulatory message retracted harder than a French willie at the sight of a pickelhaube :v:

Would you recommend this game?
Would you recommend this game?
garry can i pirate rust to try it out??? if i like it i'll pay 40 quid
Genuinely didn't expect it to do this well. When it was first posted in the programming section I thought it was just a little unity test, didn't expect it to turn into a full game. Happy for ya.
To celebrate, I propose that Facepunch shave their heads bald and run around butt-naked.
To celebrate, I propose that Facepunch shave their heads bald and run around butt-naked.
how about I shave my butt and run around without a hat
It's a solid game, I enjoy it more than Dayz
Just needs more content and the average player age to go up 10 years
In other facepunch news: overall forum age drops 70%
From 12 to 4.
What can you expect though? Most of the playerbase is 6-12 since their ancient pc cant run DayZ and they want alternatives?

Wow. That's actually pretty impressive.
I also never really thought about how Garry is a millionaire.
Running a forum this size isn't really possible unless you have a shitload of money.
