talking about Prop 19, if it somehow passes...awesome BUT Calif will probably get sued by the Federal Gov't
if for somehow it does not pass, well shit...that sucks
I think that you should need a permit to grow and sell pot. There are a lot of issues with home growers, mainly the ones that try to grow a lot and don't know what they are doing. It often leads to misuse of chemicals and wrecked land.
If someone were to make their own beer, would you feel safe drinking it? If you were buying weed from a complete stranger, can you really trust them? Honestly I think you can but there would be some doubt in your mind. If it was regulated you'd know that you are not getting anything laced, you wouldn't get cheated, no chance of getting mugged by the dealer, the person creating the pot would have their farm meet certain regulations, the people on the farm would know what they are doing, and you could just trust the product.
I think that having up to five plants should be legal, but I don't think unlicensed people should have the right to mass produce pot. It's pretty much my view on alcohol as well.
I also think that having pot not be regulated would get rid of the whole argument for being for it for taxing. A lot of people are for it because if it was taxed it would bring in a lot of money. Get rid of that argument, you'd lose a ton of support.
The problem with that is once you introduce higher regulations the black market can sell it cheaper. Thus sustaining it.
The "black market" in this case probably wouldn't be a violent one, i don't know, but people would be getting in trouble for maintaining their own plants. That is stupid.
However i agree on your view for allowing grow and ingest their own plants, it is their right, a limit on numbers is kind of dumb but i think as long as you aren't selling it you shouldn't have to meet any regulations.
$100? That's expensive as fuck
here it's $100 at the third offense and only $25 at first

I think fines like that are kind of dumb as well, they are telling you that you won't get sent to jail for being caught but they will charge you for every time you get caught?
At least jail is a burden on the state and will make them realize the folly of their ways, fines will just perpetuate a bad system.
The soccer moms will be back.
So my birthday is on Prop19 vote day I dont know which to celebrate if Prop19 passes.
The only good I'll get out of this will be that the stoners will start to shut the fuck up about legalizing it.
indisputably the thread's song

Do you care about anyone but yourself? Marijuana should be completely legal. No one should have to go to jail and possibly have their life fucked up over weed.
Two problems with your statement:
1. Logically the government has to collect incredible amounts of taxes on anything that they can.
2. If it is legalized then you can legally grow it, but the black market will still exist. The prices on the black market will go up to make more money to compete with the commercialized weed.
This post lacks intelligence.
1. Yeah, sure. It's going to be like Ciggs, I buy a pack for 10$, I get 20 cigs, I imagine it'll work similarly.
2. How the fuck can a "black market" exist when it's undercut? No ones going to buy illegal weed when companies are producing and growing it at extreme and insane levels. They'll over produce weed shortly after legalization I bet.

No. No. No. There will be no black market for it. Black market for alcohol? Ciggs? No... [sarcasm]Marijuana? Well totally, it's a drug right?! [/sarcasm] frankly, anyone who says there will be a black market when it's legal is a fucking idiot. Do you think growers in basements will be able to out grow corporations with an industrial greenhouse? FUCK NO. I'm sorry to say it, I really am, I love the fact growers can make so much money and do so well for themselves with so little, but frankly, growers as we know it will disappear. There will still be home growers and shit obviously, but... just no. There won't be a black market.

1. There are no chemicals involved in growing weed, except maybe pesticides and fertilizers.
2. People do brew their own beers. Some homebrews can be delicious.
3. People already buy weed from complete strangers all the time.
I would rather grow my own weed than buy it from somebody.
Your opinions are wrong.

weed is very very easy to grow so i wonder what will stop people from growing it them selves and not giving the government money
weed is very very easy to grow so i wonder what will stop people from growing it them selves and not giving the government money
Nothing, except time, effort, lazyness. You know, all that shit. Because it's "easy" to grow weed, sure, but the average smoker going to do that? No.
i cna see it now "piggys weed, grawn fresh with no chemical alterations" (hippys like that) and every 10$ of weed will come with a free candy bar.
i will make millions

Except you won't. A company will outgrow you massively. People saying there will be a "black market" are dumb. There will be a "home grown" market, and a professional market, and THE market, the ones that the existing companies will hit up. But that doesn't mean anything other than THE market will be making big big bucks.
yes but hippies hate big companies and so i will get at least a some business
yes but hippies hate big companies and so i will get at least a some business
Hippies are barely a big enough group to be a market. Hippies are also cheap, and will probably grow their own more than anyone else.
They need to legalize this shit, Regulate it, tax it I don't care, I know in my life time I soon can walk to the 7/11 and pick up a pack of marijuana cigarettes..
weed is very very easy to grow so i wonder what will stop people from growing it them selves and not giving the government money
It is true that weed is easy to grow, but growing good weed takes a lot of effort.

I don't smoke weed. I don't like weed. I tend not to like people who do smoke weed.
Thus, the only benefit I will receive is that I won't have to hear stoners whining about how it's illegal.
I don't give a shit about whether or not someone's life is fucked up because they get caught with weed. If you break the law, you do it knowing full well the consequences if you get caught.

You proved his point in the first 2 lines of text, you only care about you and how this will negatively effect YOU because for some reason you don't like stoners who probably leave your nerdy ass alone anyway.
No offense

Should I care about people who get busted for coke trafficking too?
Don't forget heroin, that should be legalized too
Those poor junkies getting busted

coke and heroin SHOULD be legalized because trafficking would stop.

Heroin and Cocaine are different from Weed
People die from H and C, but no one dies from W

It's a personal freedoms thing too, technically all drugs should be legalized even if with regulation so that people don't hurt others, but it's arguable and shit

We should give meth to children since it's their right, right?

If you do something potentially lethal, you do it knowing that you could die from it.
I don't feel bad for people who die in car accidents either.

explain.
explain.
Legalizing all drugs is a fucking horrible idea. Allowing people to acquire meth, heroin, crack, cocaine, LSD, PCP, and so on without repercussion will never work out. I shouldn't even have to tell you why.

you probably should have to tell me why.
would you rather they get their fix from the junkie down the alley or from a controlled quality area provided by the government, who will also provide rehabilitation when needed? people will want and get them regardless of legality so i think the latter is a better option.
