Snowden takes a leak. Reveals NSA's efforts on internet traffic.
The latest published leak from NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden lays bare classified details of the U.S. government’s $52.6 billion intelligence budget, and makes the first reference in any of the Snowden documents to a “groundbreaking” U.S. encryption-breaking effort targeted squarely at internet traffic.
Snowden, currently living in Russia under a one-year grant of asylum, passed The Washington Post the 178-page intelligence community budget request for fiscal year 2013. Among the surprises reported by Post writers Barton Gellman and Greg Miller is that the CIA receives more money than the NSA: $14.7 billion for the CIA, versus $10.8 billion for the NSA. Until this morning it’s generally been believed that the geeky NSA, with its basements full of supercomputers, dwarfed its human-oriented counterparts.
The Post published only 43 pages from the document, consisting of charts, tables and a 5-page summary written by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. The Post said it withheld the rest, and kept some information out of its reporting, in consultation with the Obama administration to protect U.S. intelligence sources and methods.
I'm glad his bladder is safe in Russia.

A++ journalism

At least it doesn't use any buzzwords to describe Snowden. It's been a while since I've seen an article that doesn't refer to him as a 'hacktivist' or a 'traitor,' or talk about his 'espionage.'

Uhm, doesn't that mean this article has been censored?
"to protect U.S. Intelligence sources and methods" my ass.

I agree, Snowden ruined America's legacy with his stupid computer gizmos and we're just going to let him live?
America needs to hand out some justice big time, let those fucking Commies have Snowden, but don't let America go without justice.

Did you read the block you quoted? It was the Post that self-censored to keep sensitive information regarding sources and methods secret, not Snowden, who gave them the whole document.
For everyone that asks why the US government is still pursuing Snowden, this is it. As long as he has sensitive information and the will to disclose it to the media he's still a threat to information security, so the government is going to keep pursuing him until he's caught, he's out of information to leak, or a more permanent arrangement can be made.
More pointedly, it's interesting to me how the NSA's been the focus of attention considering, budget-wise, they're apparently one of the smaller intelligence agencies.

I'm assuming that the only reason he is still alive is he still has beans to spill.
What is there to joke about, he's giving his opinion as am I. Calm down.

What is this strange foreign word "privacy"
I wonder if he know very sensitive informations. all he did atm was revealing that the US gov is spying over their citizens. ( many people already doubted it ) I bet he know a lot more.

A more likely reason would be that the entire world is watching Snowden, and if he died even by accident the entire world would immediately blame the USA. It's in the USA's best interest to make sure he doesn't die. Even him tripping down his stairs and breaking his neck would hurt the USA.

Hm, I wonder what these satellites do.
