The maker of Fez said in Indie Game the Movie that he would have killed himself if Fez didn't sell well because he dedicated the past 3 or so years to making it. Game isn't anything new, original, or groundbreaking but you gotta feel for him, most indie devs are probably like that.
I don't know why most of everyone hates Fez on Facepunch I played it, it's great IMO My BF beat it, he loved it Its a great little game, it just depends on what you expect from it. If you are expecting this super hyper deep game with tons of stuff in it and really involving gameplay you'll be disappointed. However if you are the type of person who enjoys playing games like Knytt and Journey, then Fez is great - it's an advancement upon the "2D puzzle exploration" genre. it's more about the experience you get and the exploration than about hard mechanics and challenges. I personally can find much enjoyment from such games - I love exploring and experiencing interesting worlds. Especially since Fez features a really brilliant little metagame to it that involved taking actual notes (like you used to do when playing games like Myst) to solve. Sure it's easy to blow through if you just aim to get to the end, but that's not the point of Fez. So long story short it's great if you can appreciate stuff like Dear Esther, Knytt, or Journey (which might I add, is the top-downloaded PSN game of all time, plus won several awards). However there's a good chunk of gamers out there who just don't "get" that genre at all, or don't really appreciate what makes that genre interesting to play for gamers like myself, and as such end up not liking Fez or think its boring. And of course you have people who point at the retro graphics and the game developer and say its shit, without ever playing the game itself and pointing things out that have no real relevance to how good or bad the game actually is.
I personally wish Microsoft would stop treating the PC platform like absolute shit and actually release Halo at the same time as the console versions I mean, it uses DirectX, so we're using Windows
No; I actually prefer to play Halo on Xbox And Microsoft is actually smart and realizes not everyone has top of the line hardware. They only release after the average consumer computer catches up.
Take $200 off that for the desk.
My point was that you shouldn't brag about your uber awesome rig here, we don't really care.
:(
Sucks for him, but honestly he jumped the gun. He heard some people on a forum spilling rumors, didn't understand it, and figured "Hey guess I gotta announce it." From what he says didn't seem like he actually had anything ready announcement-wise quite yet anyway. He could have even responded "Maybe" and hyped it even more. Anyway, hopefully this means there's validation in the other titles!

So what about the game hub and official group that was up?
So what about the game hub and official group that was up?
Most likely an automated process makes Hubs and Groups for all the appids.
Still, while those games may not be in, I'm curious as to what's up with Wolf and the White House.
I still don't think the spokesperson is right. Why would there even be a AppID for it with a name along with groups and hubs too if they weren't doing anything [editline]5th February 2013[/editline] And look at what happened with fez and dyad, after being on steam they've been announced
I don't trust the generic spokesman denying such a huge rumor either. Last time I remember somebody did that it turned out to be true and they were just keeping it a secret, understandably though. They may not have a solid decision on it and don't want to get anyone's hopes up. I'm very optimistic about Halo 3, I've been holding out for this for a long time and since the Xbox 360 is going to be superseded, I could see them making it a little less exclusive.
The maker of Fez said in Indie Game the Movie that he would have killed himself if Fez didn't sell well because he dedicated the past 3 or so years to making it. Game isn't anything new, original, or groundbreaking but you gotta feel for him, most indie devs are probably like that.
Actually Phil Fish was asked what he would do if he was unable to finish the game and he said "I'll kill myself, I'm dead" (poor paraphrasing). Given that he is young guy who had spent 4 years of his life (remember that is a long time for people his age) working on a project at a fairly consistent rate and restarting said project numerous times so it could be the best he was able to make it, it's not so difficult to understand why it is it would be hard for him to cope with his failure to finish the game. It's a very large sign of defeat and pretty much says "the past four years of your life are wrong". Just to be clear, I agree that Phil Fish has been an asshole numerous times on far too many occasions. But he's not as overtly pretentious as he gets credit for and as anyone who has seen IGTM knows, had extreme doubts about his game, varying between either "I've made a pretty good game" to "I've made a shit game that will disappoint everyone". That's not because he feels he didn't give it his all to make the game, but because he isn't so sure if his "all" is good enough. "Am I good enough?" is something many people have worried about in the past, and many people will worry about in the future, it's a horrifying thought to think that you can't do what you feel you must. I'm sure many people here can relate to that. I haven't played Fez and don't like the sort of person Phil Fish appears to be (just personality wise, I don't mesh with it), but I'm not going to trivialize four years of a persons life and effort (please fuck off with the whole "HE PROBABLY WORKED 2 MINUTES A DAY L0L", that's bullshit) because he is a young guy who didn't handle a high stress situation at all well. But who knows, maybe I'm just being stupid and Phil Fish is in fact a horribly evil man who made a shit game, but I'd still prefer to play it before I make the judgement.

PCs will always be the best way to play video games and I'm so rich I can buy parts to build my top of the line gaming computer and yet not be able to get an Xbox even if I really fucking want a certain game. As such I am immediately entitled to receive any console exclusives on my glorious PC at the same release date as console. I will never acknowledge if a game like Halo was originally on a Mac and instead say it was originally on a PC because all macs suck at everything. I will rate BFG9000 dumb because he is mocking me back." Edit:Nothing personal, just needed to get it all out

You gotta admit, the people on Indie Game: The Movie were insane. At one side, you look up to them because of their passion and their dedication. On the other hand, they're insane, and there are better ways to deal with the work they forced themselves to do.
If this is true, I'll definitely pick up Halo 3. It was pretty good on 360 and I think it'd benefit from some PC controls.

I said that the part of your statement about it is crap, as in untrue or incorrect. Microsoft gains much more profit by encouraging the sale of their hardware via exclusives than it does by supporting PC gaming. And while in my own opinion PCs are the best platform I completely appreciate consoles and their ability to deliver a good experience, I prefer the openness and customization of PC. And my PC isn't even above lower to mid-range, and didn't even cost more than a few hundred so whatever you say. And I realize it was originally on Mac, but let's not be crazy here and assume Microsoft would ever want to put Halo on the Mac. Halo 2 was to sell Vista, putting Halo 3 would only hurt them by that logic of trying to encourage OS sales. I'm personally a bit offended that you seriously felt a need to pull the baseless "PC elitist" card as if I was calling all console gamers dumb or insulting the console, I was stating how it strikes me as selfish to insist that a certain game be exclusive to a certain console for no real reason, denying potential fans access to something you obviously enjoy as well. And it's not even crazy to ask for a port, we got the first two games, so it's not like what I'm asking for is crazy or impossible. And then invoking the whole "you'll rate me dumb" just strikes me as a bit immature, seriously?
Yay! Halo 2 & 3 for PC! Could I also get Killzone 2 & 3? That would be the diapers.
