I beat you to the punch.
In other words I sunk your battleship.
okay but what I'm saying is that guy said you shouldn't say "there is no god" either. You just shouldn't mention god at all.
1. The atheist is a woman.
2. It never says anything about whether or not the teacher said anything about god before the prank.
How can water be holy?
Water cannot be full of holes silly....
1. The atheist is a woman.

1. "that guy" is the Reverend
2. I know it's pretty much unrelated I don't know why it's in the news story
"Florida, our most fucked up state."
It seems more like a prank than something news worthy.
Militant Atheist rage incoming. Prepare for thousands of teenagers advocating genocide.
Christians must die. If you contradict me, you are obviously a Christian, and therefore must die. If you even think about contradicting me, you are a Christian, and must die. If you have ever known a Christian in your lifetime without pulling a gun/knife/blunt object on them, you are a Christian enabler, and must die. And If you have ever been within a kilometer of a church, you must die.
:v:
lots of christians have a persecution complex
lots of atheists have a persecution complex
I have a lot of friends of numerous religions and guess what they are all tolerant and agree that intolerant members of their religion are dumb
go figure
This is actually pretty funny.
Mexican, shut up. No one here is pressing atheist values. This was either a dumb fucking prank, or a shitty attempt at humiliation by a couple of intolerant people. Either way, they broke the rules.
No one is trying to press atheist shit here, no one is trying to say schools should teach our way and not the other way. No one here is trying to silence anyone. There is a reason you cant teach religion in schools or in a science class. It isn't backed up, it isn't factual. It isn't about who's saying what, its about being ambiguous and empty on the issue of god. By pushing christian values, you're not fulfilling that. By doing what agnostics or atheists are saying to do, which is simply not even bring up the issue. Jesus christ, i get that you're butthurt over whatever, but that doesn't mean you have an argument here.
Being an atheist teacher != telling kids there is no god, just like being a religious teacher != promoting their religion
Teaching without mentioning God != Teaching that there is no God

Dammit, I didn't even read page 2.
I'm sure their faiths were just shattered once they realized she didn't burn.
School should not teach about God, schools should give students the evidence to make up their own mind.
Then the detail that people who aren't indoktorinated into a certain belief but are given the evidence (Me included) tend to become agnostic or atheist is another matter.
Water!???
Juesu fkuc
Did she melt?
If not, this is not threadworthy.
They're investigating a little bit of water? Lets you know where your taxpayer dollars are going.
Throwing water on someone is technically assault. I think how the "victim" has been treated by the other two teachers in the past has to come into play before people decide how to proceed on this one. If they were all friends beforehand, the atheist teacher is being bitchy about it. If there has always been tension, then investigating this is proper.
I can't stand atheist zealotry. I mean if you're going to rise an intellectual step above the crowd and deny the existence of a benevolent God, you shouldn't act like fundamentalists if you want any credibility.
I don't really think religion should be a part of the curriculum (atheism or christianity or anything else) except in a historical context. Science classes should ignore Genesis just like they ignore the Bhagavad Gita, and if students want to believe something else then that's their own perogative.

Pagans are perfect.
Hahah, what?
If this was castlevania there would be BLUE FIRE EVERYWHERE
Jesus christ, can't they take a joke?
A few years ago, in philosophie class. The teacher asked who actually believes in having a soul etc. For the 37 poeple class I was in, Nobody really believes in having a soul. Many are still mildly Christian believing in a higher power eg. god, but practically nobody here believes most of the stuff around it anymore. Except for most of the Muslims, no extremists here but they seem a bit more hardcore. I see a lot of comments on facepunch about religious poeple in their school. But from the 2500 poeple at my school nobody seems to be hardcore Christian.
I mean, I think a lot of it is the intent behind it. If I threw a Darwin fish or something at one of them, even if it didn't hurt, they would still probably be upset because of the message it would be sending. Throwing holy water at an Atheist is clearly just trying to piss them off.

hey don't read or anything, if you did that you might see that every atheist has agreed with me so far so obviously you're misunderstanding me
and I didn't say she was pressing atheist values I was just responding to someone else's response to a quote from within the article, even though the quote is seemingly unrelated.
How about we teach students the truth?
The truth is we can't tell whether or not there is a god. PERIOD.
What is the difference in water and holy water?
What is the difference in water and holy water?
Holy water is blessed by a priest.
There's no physical or chemical difference, it's just the thought.

or you can leave something as stupid as religion out of school so that people will pick up their own beliefs
Blasphemer!
