Think of a civilization that has already reached a state, where they don't need to farm for ressources anymore, through finding a technology that can give them enough power (not political, but just power to live and space travel). They wouldn't need to destroy anyone anymore. Besides, they could learn from us too, I don't know what, but they could. I think there exist more peacefull races in the universe then we are.

I doubt they would just destroy every living thing on Earth for it's resources. There are way bigger fish in the universe.

He does have a point. If we have less advanced technology than whatever's out there, nothing's stopping them from slaughtering us like animals. Hopefully if that's the case we're not a threat to them and they'll leave us alone. Like when we find tribes scattered about the world today, nobody bothers them.

Each set would be carefully tuned to that kind of life, perhaps even that species, as the flu is to us for example. And simply wouldn't have the capabilities to infect anything else.

Even through in my opinion intelligent life certainly exists outside our system, it's EXTREMELY unlikely that they would be similar to us enough to catch ANY of our diseases.

Just take the monkey vs human example. We share the same genetic code up to 95%.

The killing goes on and on, and dolphins are not even a threat to us.
