Unless it's biological(and even then, there are survivors) or it destroys the entire planet, the Human race will survive, albeit at a drastically reduced population, and the nukes would fly freely, destroying all who oppose us. And then there shall be cake.
A weapon could exist which would basically revolve itself around demolishing atomic structures. It would mush everything up back into the most basic forms of matter randomly which would then randomly start floating around in the universe, which would create an illusion of something being "exterminated". The weapon could be labeled as a "matter simplifier" or "matter blender" or "atomic structure demolisher". This is a primitive description, but hopefully was enough to give an idea.
For all we know...the flood, or something similar, could be out there. :ohdear:
We might not even be able to perceive aliens. I mean, we have 5 senses, right? That means out of the potentially billions of properties that an object can give off, we only interact with like 5. So what if the aliens have 5 completely different senses, like the ways that they interact with the world? We wouldn't even recognize them and vice versa, which is probable due to the fucking hugeness of space.
It would work both ways. We would get their shit and they would get our shit.
Unless they had eradicated all disease from their home planet, as in War of the Worlds. [editline]09:11PM[/editline] which actually if they had proper space-faring technology is a pretty reasonable assumption
He suggests that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on.
That sounds a lot like the Combine, or Universal Union to be exact.
Our Domain Name System will definitely not be compatible.
Godaddy is fucked.

I'm hoping we become sex slaves.
Hope they're nice Salarians
Guys. Alien Facepunch. Mind = Blown
Except you guys forgot one advantage that we have and they don't...we have Slim Whitman's, Indian Love Call to save us:
It would work both ways. We would get their shit and they would get our shit.
Yeah but we put smallpox in our shit. Hell it worked the first time.

I'd like to think that if we were contacted it wouldn't be a fleet. It would be a band. A single ship with a small sized crew coming as representatives. Our response would be vital however. If we try and seem too strong, war is imminent. If we seem too weak, takeover is imminent. Really hard choice. At least if either happens, humanity will unite as one for once.
At least if either happens, humanity will unite as one for once.
For one week. At best.
As soon as the aliens turn their back we'd just go back to slaughtering each other. (Btw, I wouldn't be surprised if some religious nut case would attempt to blow up the aliens)
Hope they're nice Salarians
Fuck that, I hope they're Asari :smug:
If the aliens that live in giant spaceships have the technology to move their entire civilization onto said spaceships and maintain them there, they are probably past the stage where they are dependent on fuels that are easily depleted, thus rendering an invasion of Earth irrelevant.

Everything needs something son.
*Thermodynamics. Everything needs something son.
Sure, but that doesn't mean that whatever they need to power their spaceships is easily depleted, as I said. They most likely wouldn't be dependable on some petty Earth-resources to power them.
this guy must know something that the rest of us don't.

Not many planets have a lot of water. Earth's surface is 70% water.
May be fuelled by nuclear fusion and they may require vast stores of water. Not many planets have a lot of water. Earth's surface is 70% water.
Let's hope they aren't fueled by fusion power then.
Well fusion power make's perfect sense, unless they have a way to make anti matter, even then our solar system would be good for mining, and by the time they show up we'll be mining this place rotten.
May be fuelled by nuclear fusion and they may require vast stores of water. Not many planets have a lot of water. Earth's surface is 70% water.
All they need for water is Hydrogen and Oxygen. You can get the those things in mass at the nearest gas cloud. The only reason to invade Earth is pride or to add us to their version of a Zoo.
if the galactic federation of light is real,i wont worship e'm,ill just tell them to do good and make some ALIEN FREINDS BOOYAH! but what i would perfer is encountering Alien Aliens.
I can't speak to aliens, I don't know spanish.
