What's with most aliens being represented with humanoid figures(ME2, Halo)? It doesn't really make sense to me. Not everything needs 2 arms and 2 legs.

I don't see why aliens would be repulsed by our "primitive technologies." Imagine if we cracked open Europa's ice and we found some fishy people in there using sticks and stones for tools. We would never turn up our noses in disgust of such a primitive species. We would be overjoyed that we found life, and then ecstatic over the fact that that life is intelligent enough to use tools. Do you really think aliens advanced enough to find, and then reach us, would dismiss or destroy life on Earth simply because we aren't as advanced as them? I think it's much more likely that they would be thrilled to find a species with technology as advanced as ours, even if it is nowhere near theirs.

But what if the aliens aren't smarter than us? Why do they always have to have some crazy-ass plasma guns and shit. What if we discover aliens by visiting their planets? And perhaps if they DO find us, they are intelligent and kind enough not to destroy us, and if they have the technology they won't need to raid planets for resources.

Sad that I missed that show. :( Kinda sucks to stop and think how aliens might be like the ones in Independence Day. They may just zoom in and want to fuck our shit sideways.

Along with this, came the ability to use tools and to invent. It's only logical to think that other alien species are more than likely bipedal and have the use of additional free limbs in order to use tools and whatnot. Convergent evolution is very common in the world of biology.

It's probably more likely that an advanced life form would manipulate their environment through some form of tentacle. Also, they may be intelligent without the ability to manipulate the environment easily, meaning they would never use tools or progress without outside help of some kind.

There gonna take one look at this forum and destory our entire goddamn planet...

The chemicals we rely on for life are some of the most caustic substances in existence if you really get to thinking about it. Chances are we would just be overlooked by a large alien race, just as we overlook gas giants. Assuming every creature needs water to survive is asinine. And besides, don't you think that "Super large alien nomad fleet" was at one point in time thinking this same thing? I say go all out, nothing to lose but the meager existence of our species.

Like I always say. If there are aliens..I hope we become sex slaves if being a part of an intergalactic alliance is not an option.
