Its pretty much moved past Santa Rosa county but we are still off school Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ok let's say I'm living on the Texas/Louisiana border, what will do the most damage? Wind or rain? Will there be a higher or lower chance of tornadoes? I've never been through a hurricane ALONE so I don't know this kind of shit.
Lotsa wind Lotsa rain.
Lotsa wind Lotsa rain.
I don't like wind. If it was torrential, can't-see-5-feet-in-front-of-you rain I would be okay with it, but once the wind starts I start shitting myself. :(

It won't be much worse than a bad downpour for you.
Your pine trees are going to flex like rubber bands but don't be affraid, they wont break. (Unless they're dead)

The new path takes it right over the Mississippi River, which should hopefully erase some low water problems, especially as it heads further north.
I think a hurricane would provide a bit too much water for anywhere.
Lake Travis looks like someone sucked up half the water, a hurricane would be perfect for it.
Hey you know what? Wednesday is the anniversary of hurricane Katrina's landfall. It's also the day Isaac is due to make landfall over New Orleans. What a coincidence!
You're from Biloxi too? Hope you're having fun getting ready, because I'm sure as hell not.
I work in a call center for traffic tickets. Biloxi is one place we process for. My job has reprogrammed my head to look at every single city/county/state/parish and ask myself "Do we process tickets for them?" St Charles Parish Court is closed today, along with a number of others along that coastline.
Ok Isaac, I have food, water, radio, flashlights and entertainment ready for your 2+ day onslaught. COME AT ME BRO! I'm in jefferson parish, louisiana. Y'all think we might see the eye or what?

Just got a semi-big storm here in Illinois, it wasn't Isaac, but I think it's pretty much indicating Isaac is going to slap Illinois's shit. On Labor Day. DAMN IT!
I hope not, I have shit to do that day that rain can ruin.
I live in Mississippi. I have a generator, food, water, marijuana, gasoline and flashlights. The grocery stores were packed full and everyone bought all the water. It feels like 2005 again. I hope I don't lose power for 3 weeks. Fuck you hurricane. COME AT ME ISAAC [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] I'm going to become a bandit and loot all the stores. [sp]Not really[/sp]
you on the coast? I'm in biloxi and I lost power for over a month
I'm in Madison right above Jackson. I guess I have better chances than you since you are on the coast. It still looks pretty bad heading my way. [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Wait you have had your power out for a month? How?

[editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Wait you have had your power out for a month? How?
after katrina. shit was pretty fucked. I ended up driving up north about 2 weeks after the hurricane. two weeks of August in mississippi with no AC is just unbearable.

So many trees fell over in Madison, but nothing compared to the coast. It was sad seeing so many empty lots and destruction. I heard that they moved the casinos out of the water now right?

They didn't lose much so they were able to get up and running before the law preventing casinos from being built on land was repealed.
Here is something helpful. http://google.org/crisismap/2012-tropical-system-isaac [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] About 2 hours ago Jackson wasn't red at all, now a lot of Mississippi is getting red on the map.
i hope i don't lose electricity sabine parish isn't directly in the path but it'll still get hit :(

The only person that's going to die is the idiot that tries to surf it.
