It's Ivo Robotnik's Dream come true. (Sonic SatAm reference)
If there was anyplace where Cap and Trade should be in place. China is it, not the USA.
:china:
I only care about the Pandas, fuck the rest.

That just looks completely unreal, it is amazing to think that people live where these photos are taken :frown:
That looks like one of those industrial hell-worlds out of a sci fi.
China reminds me of 1900s american and during the industrial age in the late 1800s. Economic advances out shined social ones. Hopefully in the next few decades when they realize they are killing their country with all the waste they will do reforms like the U.S did in the 80's and 90's.
I'm really curious about this picture:

Why is there a set of clothes just laying there like a person was vaporized or something while still in it?

These made me realize the meaning for the saying "every picture is worth a thousand words."

That looks incredible, but it's sad to know you'd probably catch some sort of poisoning if you even stepped outside.
Effects from industrial waste include cancer, cerebral thrombosis, and freestyle rap battles.

But really it's terrible what an industrial revolution can do to a country. History says that they will eventually move toward white-collar work and the problems will subside, but for now, damn. Manchester was similar during the industrial revolution, but I have to imagine it's much much worse in china, with modern day pollution-producing tech and an oppressive government that is very willing to sacrifice citizens and nature to gain economic power...
wow
this shit is like Forge Worlds in Warhammer 40k.
Adeptus Mechanicus would be proud.
Even forge worlds are cleaner than this.
This is an industrial revolution purely created by the United States and Europe, guess who supplies China with the majority of their raw resources and supplies to actually produce this stuff?
Reminds me of Fallout...
Looks like someone didn't flush the earthly toilet and lifted the lid and there was China floating there.
i've been to china, and it's pretty crap outside of Beijing/Shanghai/Hongkong.
You forgot Macau, and I pretty much agree with you. The only places that actually aren't shit are the tourist-centric ones.
That really sucks, China doesn't seem like a very good country AT ALL

Looks like some sci-fi dystopia. Jesus Christ.

Are those giant burnt waffles?
I was expecting to see some pitch black pictures.
Just another reason why I don't live there.

The Chinese are true innovators
This isn't much different to how European society looked during the Industrial Revolution, folks.
It'll change.
These two. China is going through the phase of development (in every manner, politically and economically) that we were going through a hundred years ago. Remember, just 50 years ago they were still stuck in the middle ages, with peasants making up the overwhelming majority of the population.
Shit, and I thought Mexico had a pollution problem. I can't even imagine what it's like living in China. D:
Well, Mexico City still is the most polluted city in the world, but China is the most polluted country in the world.
Fucking China, Mexico, and India are shitholes of another dimension and need to get their shit together...........their ignorance of the environment is disgusting.

made my day
The places portrayed in these photographs are unusually dirty.
First off before China does anything about pollution they should do something about the population.
Seriously.
The one-child only thing isn't e-fucking-nough.
Just drive a remote-controlled radiation element of said choice into the streets of...somewhere and reduce the population by slowly killing it.
I'm aware this may make said place inhabitable for quite some time, but hey, it'll be worth it in the end.
(To be honest am I sounding ironic?)
For those who say that the Chinese government is lazy and/or apathetic, remember that it is no easy feat to govern 1.4 billion people over a huge area. Don't be so shocked when places can't be spared city sweepers.
It is cleaner than my room.
Really makes you appreciate living in non-shit hole places.
