Shame I can't find the glock/Beretta switch. It was horrible.
or like the daughter that was shooting a fake as shit desert eagle, then in a different frame it switched to a beretta, then back to the fake desert eagle.
I don't really know how to make this out, I've learned plenty from the History channel. Historic battles of WWII, and etc.
History channel was far better when it had real educational value, instead of all these shitty reality shows.
I will always remember History as "Holy shit, change to the History channel, motherfucking MAIL CALL is on!"
God-damn, I miss The Gunny. Shame all I ever hear of him anymore is when he comes on the radio doing a Geico commercial. :C
They need to keep Histories Greatest Tank Battles, Ancient Aliens, After People, and a bunch of other good shows.
I used to watch History channel when it had cool stuff on it. Now it's American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Ancient Aliens, that new invention show (What does modern inventions have to do with History?) Basically whenever I flip to it, I see dumb show and go to a different channel. [editline]19th December 2011[/editline] How did we forget Swamp People?
I remember watching discovery channel when they actually aired documentaries 24/7 Now it's all shit like american bikers or whateverthefuck that is.
Oh man the the time when the only programs where people talked to the camera were mythbusters and dirty jobs. I miss that time...
It's like that one channel we have in Germany. It's called N24 and it was supposed to be a 24/7 news channel. Now all they do is showing old infotainment clips and documentaries about Hitler and Nazi Germany. There even is a joke about it: Thanks to N24 I know more about Nazi Germany than Hitler did.
I'd rather watch that all the time, instead of how aliens met with Hitler on mars and gave him V2's and uranium.
Military History is still alright...When they are not playing Hitler/SS/Shootout/War On Terror, crap all the time.
They don't play that at all anymore though. And I liked that stuff anyway.
I remember when TLC still told me how to fucking build a deck and install a marble countertop in a weekend.
I remember when TLC still told me how to fucking build a deck and install a marble countertop in a weekend.
I remember when TLC showed Junkyard Wars.
“Guys about 6-foot-2 wearing 180 pounds of armor on them, running at each other on 2,000-pound horses at 35 miles per hour and hitting each other with a pole that doesn’t break.”
Wow, like every part of this is historically inaccurate to the point of being funny. -Men in the middle ages almost never reached six feet in height, much less six foot two. -Full steel plate in the renaissance weighed roughly 40-50lbs -Destriers were used as jousting horses. They were as large as was necessary to carry an armored person, but no larger. Ultimately this resulted in relatively average sized, but highly agile, horses. Probably more like 800-1,100 lbs, but Destrier isn't a specific breed, it was determined by its capability, rather than its physical features. Ultimately 2,000 lbs is WAY outside of what it would be either way. -35 mph on a horse is fast even for light cavalry, much less heavy cavalry sporting jousting gear with virtually no space for the horse to build up speed. -The lances broke all the time. Take a wooden pole and hit a guy coated in steel with it and the thing is going to break pretty often. Basically they are making it historically inaccurate in pretty much every aspect. I don't think I could get it any more wrong if I tried.
When I first bought the History Channel, I thought that I could now watch high quality documentaries of Alexander the Great, Nazi Germany, WW1, Native American history and so on. Instead I got this: I hate to say it, but National Geographic all the way
I miss the old History channel, I like Pawn Stars but in my opinion the other shows are terrible Discovery is decent now, I mostly watch it for Mythbusters
Honestly I don't think this is so bad Some of the shows are really stretching the border and kind of make me facepalm when I see them like Ice Road Truckers. Other shows are still pretty cool and have some historically inspired backgrounds and such And it's not like they totally axe their history programming either - it's just not primetime anymore.
I watched 1 episode of American Top Gear It sucked hard
The first seasons of modern marvels were great what are you talking about they explained all the history behind inventions and stuff
This, and the universe, are the two greatest thing on History. And Mail call. I remember they did a documentary about the berlin wall for the anniversary last year, and one of the best documentary I've ever seen. Its called ' The rise and fall of the Berlin Wall' But the show shootout had really shitty reenactments
At least they still air Modern Marvels and How the States Got Their Shapes doesn't seem that bad
I watched 1 episode of American Top Gear It sucked hard
Most US versions of originally British shows usually end up flopping into failure. Red Dwarf US, or as nicknamed by the fanbase, "White Dwarf", is a pretty good example of such an occurrence.
I wish they'd just air the original Top Gear. I enjoy that one, but I don't get it here.
Most US versions of originally British shows usually end up flopping into failure. Red Dwarf US, or as nicknamed by the fanbase, "White Dwarf", is a pretty good example of such an occurrence.
then again, whose line is it anyway (US) version, is way better than the UKs.
Even the comedy network is starting this shit (comedy network is different from comedy central, it's Canadian iirc). I see cash cab on there, it's a game show and it isn't funny, even dumber is that they had it on the same time as discovery channel did for a short while.
I remember when TLC still told me how to fucking build a deck and install a marble countertop in a weekend.
TLC used to be badass as fuck. They always had shows about special forces missions in Somalia, Panama, Kosovo etc. Now it's a fuckin housewife network
History channel used to be awesome showing a bunch of WW2 and nazi shit all the time. Band of Brothers would be shown every so often, along with some cool other war movies. Modern Marvels was fucking boss. Now the history channel is stupid ass ice road truckers. [editline]19th December 2011[/editline]
This, and the universe, are the two greatest thing on History. And Mail call. The history channel even had their own Source mod for their one show called Shootout that covered these super awesome military skirmishes.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NetworkDecay Need I say more? :v:
I wish they'd just air the original Top Gear. I enjoy that one, but I don't get it here.
But that would require exposing people to foreigners. They might start to think America isn't the centre of everything! And we can't have that.
The science channel stopped being about science and animal planet is getting vary loose about what is and isn't animal related.
The last historical thing I remember seeing on the History Channel up here in Canada was when they showed Generation Kill a few months back.
I want to learn more about the Ancient Greek history and mythology... I don't trust the internet on this topic.
Not just greek mythology but the entire world.
