Actually, I think the japanese and european SNES looked the same. Only the american one was different.
It's sad to see Nintendo stepping up their game because they are loosing market dominance. :( They never do the right thing for us tech-savvy hardcore gaming individuals.
About damned time they made it a bitch to transfer shit from my DSi to my 3DS

Taken them long enough to get around to this.
10 years too late. Xbox Live was launched in 2002.
The reason they didn't do anything with online is the fact that way back in the 80's-90's, they actually did have some stuff with online play. But it never really took off that well, so they never bothered to try it again. They were cautious when Microsoft and Sega did it because they though it would just be a fad. Nintendo likes to experiment. If something they make takes off, they use it. If it doesn't, then they won't. Also, on the topic of DLC, Nintendo already said that they won't be handling DLC like how most other companies do it. They're giving games DLC to actually add more content for games you want to play more. They also might do some weird stuff where all you have to do to get Nintendo Points is tap your CC/Nintendo Points card on the controller and it'll ask you if you want to charge your account. Removing the need to have to enter/re-enter codes.
Are you serious? Consoles have much more casuals because they're easy to use. Wii sales prove that.
Please, why would a casual gamer choose a bulky console with expensive games that can only be bought at a retail store over a portable smartphone with very cheap games that can be bought without leaving your house? The Wii is inconvenient for casual gamers and the only reason it ever sold in the first place was because it had no competition when it came out.

Are you messing with me? These dollar games is not something a huge company profits on. Not to mention iphone isn't all that popular in japan which is where nintendo is located.
Judging by how the gamecube had no online support at all, and the wii and ds had super weird friend code bullshit and terrible online support in general, you'd think that was the case...
The gamecube DID have online support, but it needed special hardware and only like 4 games used it.
Who remembers that online shit for N64?

Portable devices like laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc are hurting consoles allot, mostly portable consoles but also "casual" consoles like the Wii.
I'm glad games sold are attached by account now, I lost a lot of games when my wii broke.

I'm hoping they introduce this into the 3DS in a future update

Most of my family has smart phones, but they don't sit on the couch playing Angry Birds whenever they come over. Smart phone games are for the market that plays Tetris cones on browser games websites, not people who play Wii bowling.
It's going to suck.
It's going to suck.
How do you know that?
Here's hoping they do it somewhat like steam.
Good news. Hopefully it is a good system. Even if you aren't a Nintendo fan, competition is good. It forced the other sides to step up and make better stuff.
Who remembers that online shit for N64?
RandNET DD? As far as I know, that was only in japan along with the N64DD attachment that wasnt released in america.
