Eve online seems unbearably awesome and exciting but at the same time it appears to be something you have to dedicate your entire life to if you wanna be remotely good.

Nah not really, depends on what you want to do. In terms of skills there's a lot of people you'll just never catch up with due to how skill training works, but it's not about just catching up to someone, it's all about specialising and when you do that you can easily match someone who's been playing Eve for 5 years.
Although they'll have more experience than you and almost certainly have far more money.
Think of EVE as maths, at first you're like "woah shit boy, how the fuck did that happen?" but then you see a few more examples, you make a few mistakes and get corrected, until eventually you understand the basic rules enough to extrapolate into other areas.
I tired the trial for this, spend about 2 hours mining, bought a ship and then had no idea what to do with the ship since none of the attachments I bought fitted, after which I gave up and quit.

Probably didn't like it cause you had no idea what you were doing and you spent two hours doing the most boring activity in Eve :v:

Pretty much, I didn't see much point in carrying on since it was only a trial, I'm sure that if I bought it I'd probably put more effort into it.
Although I found mining kind ofi nteresting considering I was new, but then I blew all my cash on nothing and got pissed off.
They would if this worked right?
Would be even more interesting if they simulated an economic collapse.
Why would they have to simulate it?
Any effect this has on the economy is going to be real.
fucking goonswarm is hilarious
i remember way back when when they infiltrated the largest alliance in eve at the time, and disbanded it
they were screaming "disband of brothers" for so long
If you want an invite I'm giving away 250Million ISK if you go ahead and buy the game whilst using my invite.
It'll be a nice bonus for a new player, enough to buy and fully fit out a very decent battleship or anything below. I'll also personally advise you in-game, and tell you pretty much everything you need to know to get started and what to work towards to fly the ships you want to fly.
PM me.

don't do this, he's a scammer and a bad player and will not give you any money he will only bring you death
I meant holding a large amount of money on unused accounts. Unless money is limitless of course.
I don't think you quite understand.
I meant holding a large amount of money on unused accounts. Unless money is limitless of course.
Money is limitless, but restricted.
People with ISK in their wallet get banned/quit and that money is lost. In addition, when new items come out, the only way to get them is to buy them from NPCs. These remove money.
However, you get bounties from killing NPC priates, you get mission rewards etc which bring money in.
You can't collapse the economy totally by just having all the money, because to get money, you don't need to get it from another player. Eventually things would get back to normal.
This will only change the local markets around Jita.
Unless Goonswarm takes this opportunity to establish a monopoly on hundreds of items, nothing is going to happen.

Jita is the only place to find rarer items, and speculation will drive the price of more valuable commodities up.
It won't be a big deal, but it will still be noticeable.
In addition, ganked freighter pilots will ragequit, causing some corps to lose financial strength and creating new opportunities for other players.
Here is what is on the EVE Online login screen.

Also things come through the in-game news in your hanger.

Traders have already migrated to other major trade hubs. Not much is going to happen.
I don't play the game, but what I've understood is this guy is basically an African Warlord, he's captured or corrupted people into doing his bidding, and with no real goal except chaos.
He could be the Kony of EVE!

Are you kidding?
I'm being entirely serious with the offer.
Beacon was just kidding cause we play EvE together and have a corp, and he's a big trollman.

You still make profit either way with Plex(450M) if you're willing to sell it if not you'll have 30 more days to play
Most likely reason why he said that
Actually that's wrong, the Goonswarm are from Something Awful, 4chan if I remember correctly is the League of Internet Spaceships, but I'm not sure about that.
I was using 4Chan/Anonymous as a metaphor for what Goonswarm is in EvE Online... I thought that was apparent as I used the Circulatory System as a metaphor for Jita
i just remembered
i'm docked in jita right now
god damnit

So what? I'm still giving them the majority (250M) instead of taking it all for myself or using the 30days..

boy you know full well there's a goddamn PLANET right of the undock you can use as an insta-warp.
Glad people like playing Spreadsheets Online.
Anyhow, I played this game for like a week and while I found it fun, I don't want to pay to play this game, which is why now people in my teamspeak pay for my time in return for help.
As long as your ship isnt very expensive or loaded with expensive things you should be fine.
i just got on, turns out most of them left

Jump Clones.
Apparently people in the livestream are saying this is not going to be affecting the markets since there are other large hubs and stations to trade from.
