Am I reading this right: they had 7 other kids excluding these two mentioned who were put in foster care?
Yep.
I don't see what is so hard to grasp about maybe going to the doctor and praying?
I just dont understand how these faith healers think, i really dont. surely the fact that- * Every single seriously ill person they have tried this stupid shit with, EVER, has fucking died * would be a big enough clue that it doesnt actully work?.

Life in prison for both of them, now.
But praying works when we have the cold!!!
Not sure if im giving them too much merit, but even if you were stupid enough to belive god will fix your illnesses if you jsut pray hard enough wouldnt you realise people who dont pray, or arent religious, can fight colds off just as quickly?

Hell, I was talking to my bible thumper grandma and asked her "if everyone is made in God's image and people are born gay then doesn't that mean God made them gay"? And I literally think I gave her Alzheimer disease with that question.
How the fuck is faith healing not criminal? There's freedom of religion, and then there's this. It's like yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater.
I don't like to bash religions because it makes me feel like a youtube comment troll, but holy shit. Religious texts can be interpreted in some really retarded ways.
Yup.
How the fuck is faith healing not criminal? There's freedom of religion, and then there's this. It's like yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater.
Agreed. Not giving a sick kid access to medical care has got be as close to torture as it can get.
god isn't supposed to PHYSICALLY heal you. interpret the healing in the bible as spiritual, damnit. fucking dumbasses
My step mom is a nurse and she's had to let people choose medicine or faith. As a nurse you can't just be like "okay sorry we know this is your son but we are going to inject drugs into him without your consent"
A medical care provider such as a doctor or a nurse is allowed to give treatment without consent so long as that treatment is to save the life of the child. If the kid has a headache and the parents don't want him taking aspirin, you can not give it to him. If the child has pneumonia and is going to die unless treated, you can give them treatment to the extent of saving their life and tell the parents they are idiots while you do it. I'm not sure I understand. If God made all men, and men made medicine, then why would they not accept using medicine to help their child? It's God's invention, right?
The article seems so cold when it states that the death of their child is "violation of probation". You usually think of probation violation as minor things, not the death of people. But seriously, 10 years probation and this allowed them to do it again? Absolutely disgusting. They were convicted of "involuntary manslaughter" for the last child. They BETTER be convicted of MURDER this time around. There is absolutely no excuse.
Like it or not, it's not murder. Murder means intentionally (and usually with premeditation) killing someone. These people, while definitely horrible parents who shouldn't have even been allowed to take care of the child, did not actively try to kill him, just refused real medical aid. They unintentionally killed him as a side effect of their "healing" methods, that's manslaughter by definition.

They might as well have the intention on killing their children at this rate...
Even I'm a christian and I know this is just fucking stupid. You don't just pray over a dying child and expect him/her to instantly be healed.
Its on the goddamn fucking Genesis man, you gotta work in order to advance, you just cant expect to God come down and help you. Jesus Christ, how can they not get it?

You're supposed to pray when there's nothing that can be done not when the solution is readily available...
How the fuck is faith healing not criminal? There's freedom of religion, and then there's this. It's like yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater.
It's more like seeing a fire and just hope for it to go away without warning anyone.
It's more like seeing a fire and just hope for it to go away without warning anyone.
Actually that is a good analogy... You can watch your kitchen catch on fire and call someone to come put it out, or you can sit and pray. The fire will go out no matter which path you choose. If you choose the path to let someone come help you, your kitchen will be a little messed up, but the fire will be out. If you choose the second path, the fire will be out... after it has consumed everything, leaving nothing left to salvage.
Maybe they can pray their way out of prison?
And then they pray for God to represent them in court.
What the hell goes through these idiot's heads "Vaccines? That sounds like something I don't understand, and God wants me to hate things I don't understand so I'll just stick to praying"
I'm not sure I understand. If God made all men, and men made medicine, then why would they not accept using medicine to help their child? It's God's invention, right?
Like I said earlier, there's different denominations/interpretations of religious texts. Frankly, I can't quite see the point of it when it makes life so unnecessarily complicated, but people have a right to their own beliefs. It's just a matter of if that belief is socially acceptable or legal.
Ugh, faith healers. Practically the same as Christian Scientists. "Who needs medicine and apothecaries when we have the good Lord to heal my chronic halitosis?"
Cure for aids found palm to the face THANK YOU JEEESUHS
dr. house is a fictional character
Really? That is fucking amazing
