Forgive my curiosity, but what exactly were the circumstances that led to him losing the girl? Of course he was smoking but something had to have happened that resulted in him being arrested for it and having custody taken away.

if, forbid the circumstance, the government ever had a reason to come after my yet unborn children, I'd club a fucking social services worker to death with a pipe and take off towards mexico before they'd end up in the foster system and molested/abused/emotionally damaged through it.

The foster care system in the US is fucking terrible, I know someone that had to go through it for 4 years since something happened with his parent, he changed after that, hates anyone older than him, etc. They really need to fix the system.
