The majority of the United States is far more progressive than the entire nations of Ireland, Germany and Australia. Countries in Eastern and Southeastern Europe are even worse.

Its sort of interesting how the Americas and Western Europe are mostly okay with it and almost all of Africa and Asia are just like "nope".

It's one of the things Russia fuels anti-west nationalism with, because we are literally being gay and that is not acceptable there.

Most countries opened same-sex marriage through their legislation not forced by a court. Not saying it's a bad thing just that if it we're completely up the the 'people' that map would not look like that.

The point was it only became allowed after the supreme court over turned bans put in place by state legislatives. That's not exactly progressive.
