That's because all that money that got poured into health and education managed to pay for most peoples books and shit, my sister's intending on going to a college next year and generally needs the EMA otherwise it's going to get tricky getting her there and back. Because he's a smug posh twat and the Conservatives are shit.
Ignorent post
EMA is nice, but I didn't know a single person who spent that money on anything other than leisure like video games, alchohol and such.
I hate people who complain that they don't get enough EMA or that they have to attend lessons to get it. It's practically money for free, and most people who don't get EMA come to school anyway.
Well, let's hope he does some good!
Reading the title made my stomach cramp, Tatcher-time is back.
We have no heavy industry for them to kill off. Thatcher was a long time ago...at least give them a chance. While labour have been in charge, we have got into a very unhealthy relationship with America which meant we went to war twice, and saw the banks collapse...for which labour have not done anything to stop it happening again. Labour have been weak. Personally i voted lib dem...so don't start quoting me as a tory supporter. Just give them a chance.
EMA is nice, but I didn't know a single person who spent that money on anything other than leisure like video games, alchohol and such.
Personal anecdotes, though, are hardly a good basis for policymaking, don't you think?
I don't agree with nearly everything the Tories stand for, personally, so this is rather sad news to me (and pretty much everyone in my family). It could turn out well for all I know, but for right now, I'm just disappointed that the Tories got in.
Personal anecdotes, though, are hardly a good basis for policymaking, don't you think?
I'm not the one making policies, as a student, I have seen how people use EMA, and at university I have met people from different parts of the country and it seems to be the same for them also. I can only go on personal experience and knowledge, as can anyone.
Man I have no chance getting the money together for Uni now.
Personal anecdotes, though, are hardly a good basis for policymaking, don't you think?
It's true, it's what most people use it for.
-They want to cut funding on education in general.
This especially after Alistair Darling fucked over further education Colleges who now don't like accepting adult students, next year it's going to be worse with more cuts. I don't think I will see uni.
Man I have no chance getting the money together for Uni now.
Lol. Do you REALLY think that the conservatives would decimate annual graduate figures in an instant, just like that? Do you think that would benefit them, or the country?
Lol. Do you REALLY think that the conservatives would decimate annual graduate figures in an instant, just like that? Do you think that would benefit them, or the country?
yes
yes
Prepare to be shown that you were wrong then. Not going to happen.
lol i can dream
That's the Conservative way! Have a valid medical reason that means you should get benefits? Fuck you get to work! Still in education and able to get EMA? Fuck you go mow some lawns!
What's this about ema? I would like to hear more on what would happen to it. My fuel money. :frown:
It would help the country a ton actually. Uni isn't a choice for everyone, and it isn't a necessity. Plumbers for example get quite a chunky pay packet. Tube Drivers get 40,000 a year base pay...and that's not working a 5 day week.
EMA is nice, but I didn't know a single person who spent that money on anything other than leisure like video games, alchohol and such.
Everyone I know uses it for the bus. That's £3.10 a day, without EMA it's really expensive.

something predictable happened WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE
I'm new to politics, does this mean there are no longer any student loans?
The whole point of EMA is to give every 16 year old the chance to go to college, without any excuses. Yes some people might spend it on other things, but some people rely on it, since it pays for them to travel to college, and for the food and drink there. Without it a lot of people can just say "I can't afford to go to college" and claim job seekers instead Not like I care, I'm leaving this year, no EMA means lower taxes for me
I'm new to politics, does this mean there are no longer any student loans?
no, because nothing regarding student fees has passed or even been proposed because parliament hasn't even met yet neither has anything else we don't even know the terms of the coalition calm down
something predictable happened WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE
yeah I'm a floating voter, I'm not going to take a judgement on a government that is not even fully formed yet.
EMA is nice, but I didn't know a single person who spent that money on anything other than leisure like video games, alchohol and such.
EMA is changing next year, i dont know what to
So what's wrong with these "Tories"?
