Says nothing on specifics, all it says is the same stuff every party talks about.
All of them are wrong, the only reason Labour stood a chance is because only poor people vote for them because they want to live on benefit their entie lives while David Cameron wants them to work and Uni should only go to those who deserve to go not those who only want to, too many left wingers in this thread
You have some seriously skewed views of the world and other people. living on benefits may as well be living in a homeless shelter. you get nothing. Nothing extra. All people I've met on benefits think simple hot water is a luxury. Its all well and good telling people on benefits to work but have you any idea how hard it is to get a job right now? I've been looking and applying for months just for a simple part time till-opp job and nothings has come though. Uni for those who deserve it. who is anyone to decide who deserves education. If someone has a dream to study say psychology, why does someone born into a richer family have more of a right than someone who was born into a less well off family? I can only guess you're either mentally deficient or have yet to reach puberty.
am I the only person who really admires Gordon Brown as a person?
So basically everyone who is whining is Ignorent
:irony:
Fixed your quote for you there.
First off, I'm all for retaining british culture, and I'm therefore all for capping immigration. Secondly, I'm not racist, you slander ridden shit. I do not like living with them because they constantly speak in chinese in front of me(which is very rude in my opinion), they group with other chinese people. It's like they aren't even there... but the mess they leave in the kitchen is. There is no communication with them, it's counter productive and not fun. I'd much rather some english people lived in those rooms, then I'd actually have a chance of making friends with them.
And the kids you don't see in Town on nights outs, have probably spent their money wisely on their dinners at lunch time, travel costs and general education needs, that's what I do. Uni students probably have jobs, that's where they get their income and the 16/17 year olds that spend their EMA on money and clothes probably still live with both their parents and sponge off them. Because that's what I've seen from friends and getting pissed in town.
This. If I could apply for EMA it would end up covering my lunch at college, my travel whenever my bus pass expires, and my resources for my course (any spare goes into luxuries of course). What pisses me off with the EMA system is that my parents earn just over the threshold, and still we cannot apply for it, they have trouble supporting our family with what they earn as is, and a paper round I've been doing for four years now at ~£10 a week for a day of work isn't really cutting it. Unless the changes to EMA make it more open the Tories, can once again, go fuck themselves. They are not making it easy for someone like me to find a job with the shit they are bound to pull.
3 of the 6 people sharing my kitchen in uni halls is chinese. They speak chinese all the time and speaking to them is something which does not occur. I don't like it.
Universities get fuck loads of money for a foreign student rather than a British. Find that very annoying as they get much nicer accommodation and a lot more help than me :(
am I the only person who really admires Gordon Brown as a person?
I felt really sad for him as he resigned. He wasn't as bad as people said, I think he was unfortunate to walk into power when he did. I do admire him as a person.

This is gonna end bad.
I never called you racist, but you have only enforced your "us and them" mentality which is by no means racism, but still fucking ignorant.
You aren't in my position, you are in no place to judge. I have friends who have travelled to different areas of the country and it's the same for them. They isolate themselves into groups of other chinese people and are generally completely separate from everyone else, this is an observation not just made by me.

You are not being ignorant at all.
Is this a true conservative or a neo-con?
I felt really sad for him as he resigned. He wasn't as bad as people said, I think he was unfortunate to walk into power when he did. I do admire him as a person.
Even I feel sad for him and that is saying a lot!

The expensive place I live? Oxford. How about some facts and figures: There are about 30,000 students across all the many colleges and universities in Oxford. 1 in 3 is a foreign student from all over the world. We have foreign students EVERYWHERE. And yes, some do isolate themselves. 90% of them are fantastic, fascinating people once I managed to put aside ignorance and cultural preconceptions that may have been holding me back.
You have some seriously skewed views of the world and other people. living on benefits may as well be living in a homeless shelter. you get nothing. Nothing extra. I can only guess you're either mentally deficient or have yet to reach puberty.
Well firstly I'm talking about the people on benefits who have about 8 children and who live on a council estate because getting a job would lower their income and would have to do somthing, Secondly I'm talking about the people can't be bothered to get a job not the ones who can't because atleast their trying to contribute to socity and not just leeching off the system. Thirdly I was reffering to Labours policy of allowing the lower classes to have more avaliabibity to Uni than everyone else, this means that those who are well educated and have a good understanding of the world will be denied education that would further nurture their talents while those who come from council estates and have a poorer education will be given further education that they don't need or don't deserve
3 of the 6 people sharing my kitchen in uni halls is chinese. They speak chinese all the time and speaking to them is something which does not occur. I don't like it.
Want to know why? Because British people always believe that people should adapt to their culture and are also no better abroad where they keep in their little groups aswell.
am I the only person who really admires Gordon Brown as a person?
personally I admire him because he isn't Tony Blair, but that's a different story
Want to know why? Because British people always believe that people should adapt to their culture and are also no better abroad where they keep in their little groups aswell.
People should adapt to others peoples cultures if they are going to live in the country, not force their cultures on other people living there. When in Rome - do as the Romans do.
nooooooooooooo
Want to know why? Because British people always believe that people should adapt to their culture and are also no better abroad where they keep in their little groups aswell.
Yeah, but I haven't immigrated have I? If people want to come here, they can adapt to our culture or fuck off, that's the way I see it. That's much more lenient than many other countries, specifically those of which a considerable amount of immigrants in the UK come from.
I am disappointed, just read that Brown won't stand down as MP, was hoping Land is Power guy would get another chance.
People should adapt to others peoples cultures if they are going to live in the country, not force their cultures on other people living there. When in Rome - do as the Romans do.
We're country notorious for going on holiday, getting blind fucking drunk and ruining whole towns with out sick excuse for holiday resorts.
Just noticed in Brown's speech he says he made the country more democratic...
People should adapt to others peoples cultures if they are going to live in the country, not force their cultures on other people living there. When in Rome - do as the Romans do.
So keeping to yourself is forcing a culture?
Personal anecdotes, though, are hardly a good basis for policymaking, don't you think?
Welcome to the Democratic Party of the United States. Just about every major health reform Congressional session involved some sort of heart-wrenching personal anecdote on behalf of the Democrats, one time involving bringing some poor disabled chap to the podium for all to see. That particular instance was very low. Using victims to shine the edges of their own image. Such is the incumbency.
A majority of the country voted for them. Do you really believe that would be the case if what you say about them is correct?
actually due to our fucked voting systems a lot more people voted for labour/lib dems than conservatives when next election comes around after voting reform the conservatives will be out on their arse, hopefully they won't cause too much damage in the meantime
Just noticed in Brown's speech he says he made the country more democratic...
Well the Labour party did initiate devolution so that's not entirely false.
We're country notorious for going on holiday, getting blind fucking drunk and ruining whole towns with out sick excuse for holiday resorts.
It's up to that country to combat it, which is exactly my argument, we need to enforce our culture, and not let it get washed out by people coming here. One thing I do like about the chinese is that they do keep to themselves actually, although I don't like how they separate themselves from everyone else, they adapt to our culture great, and I respect them for it. In fact I have no problem with the chinese people who come here even, in their position I'd be just as isolated. Which is why I think the immigration cap is a good thing.
Well the Labour party did initiate devolution so that's not entirely false.
I suppose, but nothing that extreme... Every time I hear Brown's speech it makes me sad, he is a nice guy just I don't think he should of been PM.
