They found some hairs somewhere
Decided it was Bigfoot hairs (probably by applying their own cryptozoologist bullshit reasons of assumption)
Tested it against human DNA and found out it was similar?
Don't we already share most of our DNA with monkeys anyway? How do they know it's not just some monkey hair? Did I miss something?

but it always made me wonder why people were always saying its impossible.
i mean ..couldnt it just be some mutated monkey? people hear the word mutant and immediately thing X men or nuclear accident movies ..which annoys me because everyones a little mutated on the genetic level. you don't have to have 3 eyes and a tentacle.
so if any sightings were true i always wondered if it was just some genetic reject of a nearby species or something similar.
but now they say there might be a whole group of them which makes it interesting

If it did exist, it certainly wouldn't be a monkey. Besides, there aren't any other primates in North America.
Mutations like this don't just occur within one generation.
Even if it was the result of a a simple mutation, the purported sightings have been occuring long enough for us to assume there is a viable population a certain species which basically rules out all theories other than it being an extant hominid.

yeah those thoughts crossed my mind too. but it made me wonder if so many of the storys are false or the product of fear getting the better of someone ..maybe theres so many stories that were just the one genetically buffed up (or fucked up) bear or something. the thing might be dead now but it would be interesting if all this were because of a single sighting years ago.
I once heard a story of an adventurer in the 1900 who went into the jungle and found his camp being attacked by strange monkey like creatures. the only difference being they walked upright, knew how to use weapons effectively (sharp sticks etc) and seemed to have a form of language (might remember that part wrong though) he managed to shoot a female dead and scare the others off and took a photo of the thing sitting in a chair with its head propped up. it looked very human/monkey hybrid. not sure if it was real but how would an old time adventurer make a fake that realistic in the depths of the amazon
if anyone has source on this post it as i saw this story fucking ages ago
