• APB Purchased By Free-to-Play Company?

Its funny, I remember in the beta forum when the subscribtion was announced and everyone was like 'woah, what a dick move, rtw' there was one guy who thfended the payment model saying something like: "NO, in the future every multiplayer shooter will have suscribtion! All servers are currently hosted by players sacrificing their very own money and this has no future. APB will be the dawn of a new age of server hosting bnka blka bla bla bla" I want to see this guys reaction. As soon as the payment model was announced, they might as well have renamed it 'Titanic' and everyone with a common sense abandoned this sinking ship.
it was awful i would much rather just play gta4 online
lol GTA IV is laggy enough in single player, multiplayer is just awful
Champions Online?
yup
This better not be shit. Until I see more news about this, I'm sticking with ActionDistrict
Yay in before "YAY SINCE IM A CHEAP BASTARD AND THIS BECAME F2P THIS GAME IS SUDDENLY AWESOME"
This is just a rumor guys.
Yay in before "YAY SINCE IM A CHEAP BASTARD AND THIS BECAME F2P THIS GAME IS SUDDENLY AWESOME"
The fee was really expensive for what it was. £10 for 20 hours which you would probably use up in 3 days if you played it a lot.
"Realtime world’s story is a sad one," And so they shall be forgotten, just like Ritual. Oh, and Yeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssss It's coming back :smug: [editline]11th November 2010[/editline]
APB is really awesome when people actually know how to play it.
And don't go Leeroy with a shotgun like a moron.
The only reason I, and probably many others didn't buy this game is because of monthly subscription fees.
Was a filltime warrock player untill I figured out the game actually was a piece of crap, held together by some korean scripters that only do what they want, because K2 didn't even own Warrock. [editline]12th November 2010[/editline] *Fulltime
no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no please no god no this game was awful dont bring it back
Obviously they aren't going to just leave it like it is.
I've always wanted to try it but I don't have the money for MMOs.
Customization is what I love most
post for gold member
Fuck ye if this goes F2P.
I used to play it, but fuck man, balancing and car handling were fucked up When driving, it was like you had ice on your wheels and the roads were drenched in sirap or some shit [editline]12th November 2010[/editline] syrup even
Awesome.
I would've loved to play it, but I sure as hell wasn't paying money for it. This is good.
Rumour has it that they plan on adding some of the changes promised to APB i.e patch 1.4.2 before launching. Hopefully they do that and go a lot further.
all i wanted to do was customize my character and cars. pay-to-play is bullshit and the only reason i didn't get the game
The reason why APB Died is because of limiting the game to US Only. [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] Well not the only reason, Just the main.
I didn't even get to play this game for two reasons. Money and Computer was and is shit.
The only reason I, and probably many others didn't buy this game is because of monthly subscription fees.
It's not like you could only pay on a monthly fee they had some pay to play system running incase you forgot. K2 Network owns War Rock and a handful of other awful Korean "MMOs" so I know I won't be getting my hopes up since they'll no doubt slap their shit anti-cheat system that's as useful as Punkbuster.
It's funny because F2P companies last longer.
Is it from K2/gamerfirst? The owners of warrock? Then there's a huge potential that they'll charge money on every sufficient firearm like in Warrock. It's pretty terrible, like half of the weapons require a subscription fee and they're all overpowered ( Like a minigun ). It's not like BF:H where the balance issue is bearable, here you get slaughtered no matter what. Also there are upgrades you can only buy with K2 points or whatever, like a K/D ratio resetter ( But only the biggest fucktards buy those so nevermind )
I bought this game and what the developers did was borderline robbery. Fifty dollars, and then they simply shut it down? Assholes. It was bad, anyways. [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] gamersfirst is going to make it was worse

I'd rather pay for the game once and have everything in-game for free than playing the game for free and buying in-game items for cash.
free /=/ good
Nobody's forcing anyone to play it though, and to those that want to, they don't need to pay anymore. I say it's a win/win situation.
It deserves a ressurection, seeing how shortlived it was.
I played in the closed beta, first wave of keys that were given out, it was amazing. I believe my character deserves a winner medal.
