Those opposed (in no particular order): Canada, US, Israel, Panama, Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Czech Republic and Nauru.
So pretty much current or ex-territories of the United States, with the exception of Israel, Canada and Czech Republic
I like how 99% of all the red in that diagram lies in the American continent.
I'm pretty happy Australia abstained from the vote, I was honestly expecting us to vote No because we do enjoy brown nosing the US.
It's retarded how the only counter-argument was that it would "hinder the negotiations for a two-state solution". You had half a fucking century to work that out. Time for a different approach.
Really don't understand why the UK abstained. I'm pretty sure the majority of us are pretty pro-Palestine. Maybe just our government being cowards again.

It's a start
Israel came frighteningly close to launching nukes when they were at war with Egypt.
The youngest country nearly fucks up the planet.
Those who weren't already against Israel are gradually becoming so. Israel and its supporters will have to decide whether they want to defy the rest of the world, putting lives in needless danger, or to abandon this endless and pointless struggle against a people's sovereignty. Needless to say, this should be interesting to watch unfold.
Next up : Tibet
Next up : Tibet
I doubt it
I like how 99% of all the red in that diagram lies in the American continent.
A little over 20%, actually. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline]
This look is hilarious
It's as if he's saying "I wonder if there is a falafel stand around here somewhere?"
Next up : Tibet
Good Joke
I'm pretty happy Australia abstained from the vote, I was honestly expecting us to vote No because we do enjoy brown nosing the US.
Abstaining was really the best we could hope for, Julia wanted to vote against it, but her party overruled her (Which the liberals just loved, took some attention away from their random claims)
I'm rather ashamed to be an American today, I wish we had at least abstained from voting.
At the very least we should have voted yes. Who are we to decide who has the right to give their consent to be governed, especially on the other side of the earth. Its a shame that our government which is supposed to representative of us and 'freedom' taking such an obstinate and imperial view.
The youngest country nearly fucks up the planet.
What? Palestine hasn't done anything. My automerge :(
y u hate jews so much, jew hater?
Same reason Nazi's are hated. [editline]30th November 2012[/editline] Which is ironic in itself.
Same reason Nazi's are hated. [editline]30th November 2012[/editline] Which is ironic in itself.
But there are legitimate reasons to hate nazi's. They're nationalist shitheads who thought Germans were superior to the rest of the Human race.
All right, I've never really read to deeply into any of these news stories regarding Israel/Palestine, never learnt about it in school or ever even heard it crop up in day-to-day conversation. So can someone explain to me, in layman's terms, what the fuck? Because as far as I can tell it's just Israel being a school-yard bully.
Voting map is done [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/02/UN_Resolution_of_Palestine_as_Observer_State.svg/2000px-UN_Resolution_of_Palestine_as_Observer_State.svg.png[/t] Green = yes, Red = no, Blue = abstain, Grey = did not vote
grey? i see yellow, no grey
This is why abstain should have been removed a long time ago, All it showed was that the people who would have said no are pussies summary: most of the people who back Israel are being cowards
So, WW3 is gonna happen?
This is why abstain should have been removed a long time ago, All it showed was that the people who would have said no are pussies summary: most of the people who back Israel are being cowards
It did some good there tho.
grey? i see yellow, no grey
western sahara, vatican city
Besides licking american ass like he normally does, why the fuck did we even get involved let alone vote "no".
Good ol' Stephey H also sucks up to Israel pretty hard. He has gone on a bit about how it's best if they seek a two-state solution, but really, he's a ponce. He's very eager to replace the UK as America's number #1 ally, I expect.
grey? i see yellow, no grey
They changed it. It's now yellow=abstain, blue=did not vote
Not surprised we voted against, considering we have long time agreements with Israel ever since the end of ww2 whcih does often put us into conflict with other EU members.
western sahara, vatican city
Vatican is a permanent observer, they have no voting rights.
Must say I'm not impressed with the BBC's coverage of this [t]http://imgkk.com/i/bin2.png[/t] I understand it has to contend with Leveson which is a big UK story, but it should definitely be the second top story. Instead it's about the fifth story, and it's led with a negative headline about it 'hurting peace'
