What a fucking shitty way to propose, seriously.
This is the part where all the nerds come out and tell me I'm wrong for saying that.
Who the hell are you to judge what is a good proposal? Obviously the girl loved it.

What does this have to do with anything in the thread?

Oh shit wrong thread :v:
Bethesda would be a better name, at least people could call her Beth.
Really because I'd rather be named after something special from my parents past experiences so that I can carry a little bit of their own personality with me.
What the hell.
I don't think it's healthy to like your parents that much.
unfit pre-parents
It's fairly reasonable actually, most hospitals tell you to wait until the contractions reach a certain frequency before actually coming in, some people are in labour for a while before they even leave their house.
It's not as bad as Megatron.
I wonder if it will be a PC Gamer instead of one of those ugly console gamers.
They should have named the kid "Nintendo Entertainment System"
Nah. Should have named the kid "Ness"
Thumbs up if you get the reference.

finally a kid who will grow up playing Skyrim instead of "C4LL 0F DUTY: MOD3RN WARFARR 3"
finally a kid who will grow up playing Skyrim instead of "C4LL 0F DUTY: MOD3RN WARFARR 3"
Eh, it'll be quite a few years until the kid actually plays Skyrim, you know.
And even so, we're not sure that the kid will play it for sure.
Bad parents :(
Kill Parents, Take Child, Give to Nintendo's CEO.
ultimate irony

a) maybe the kid won't like video games
b) if they do, by then (~10+ years) technology will have advanced so much that you'd be hard-pressed to get them to play skyrim (because why would they? it's not old enough to be ancient and retro like space invaders or mario, it's just reeeaaaally out-of-date. it's like the difference between half-life and crysis)
I dig the name Atari. Also, they had no actual idea if she was in labor, for all they know it could've been labor pains/contractions she was having. I mean, there really isn't any reason to speed off to hospital super fast anyway.
Let's start with this:
"During the demo Todd Howard showed off the Frost Dragon. This is what started the whole thing, seeing this must have filled Stevi with so much excitement that it sent her into labor," said the new father, Chaz, in a message sent later to Game Informer. He explained that they decided to wait in case she wasn't actually in labor, meaning they "stayed for the rest of the demo because she is a trooper and LOVES Skyrim."
Then move on to...
I think it's quite pathetic, if you're having a baby then a video game shouldn't be your first priority, I wonder how this kid is going to get raised, probably in a bad way as they didn't care for it when it was about to be born.

Or you know. Lovingly.

Don't expect that from a couple that didn't care for the birth of their baby but would rather watch something about a videogame.

The woman was going into labor. Instead of immediately going to the hospital, they chose to stay for the rest of the demo.
What here makes you think this couple will be caring, responsible parents?

unfit pre-parents

What are you talking about, games are obviously more important than your child's birth
http://www.babycenter.com/0_false-labor_491.bc
For fuck's sake, people, that took me a grand total of three seconds to Google, copy, paste and then type "for fuck's sake."
It's fairly reasonable actually, most hospitals tell you to wait until the contractions reach a certain frequency before actually coming in, some people are in labour for a while before they even leave their house.

I dig the name Atari. As for the new parents, I hope Bethesda does something nice for them, like giving them a free copy. Sure, they didn't name their kid Davokhiin but they did stick around for a presentation, that's got to count for something.
I think Atari sounds like a pretty decent name actually.
It sounds like it very well could be a foreign name, and it also isn't just a word like "Xbox" or "Playstation", or "Computer". It sounds pretty cool really.
Though it's retarded to name your kid "Atari", I must admit that at a passing glance it looks like just another Japanese name; at least it's not as obvious as some of the other console names.
I foresee that the name she will be called by her friends is Terry
At least they didn't call her Dreamcast
I saw the thread title and that it meant that people were being forced to work to make Skyrim.
They stated that anyone who did this would get free Bethesda games for life.
So it'd be worth it...
I wonder if I'd get away with Dovak :v:
"But...there is one they fear...in their tongue he is Dovakhiin DRAGONBORN!"
Coincidence?
"Hey Atari, fetch me that cup of coffee"
"ok :<"
Atari? Come on really you're just asking for the kid to get made fun of during school. Its like naming your kid xbox or something.
Atari? Come on really you're just asking for the kid to get made fun of during school. Its like naming your kid xbox or something.
By the time the kid is in School I don't think the Kids will know what an "Atari" is so she most likely won't be bullied.
Wow, Notch knows how to make good games
I like the name Atari.
It's not like naming your kid Xbox, because Atari actually sounds like a name. Plus, by the time the kid gets to school, I doubt most kids would know what an Atari is.
Nah. Should have named the kid "Ness"

To many s's
Atari sounds like a cool name, I mean Tari sounds like it would be a pretty nickname to have.
And when she eventually posts on Facepunch she can use her real name and we will all think that she's using some username that she made up.
