You really have no clue what you are talking about to you?
I know that 20 deaths is nothing compared to many other things that happen on a daily basis around the world. And as for the destruction, there will be more jobs available to help repair everything. And people have insurance for a reason.

It's not as black and white as that. Infrastructure gets destroyed, places of business get destroyed, small businesses are forced to close, employees get displaced, things get backed up for quite some time. And what about the people that don't have insurance? Hurricane Ike fucked over a ton of peoples lives and careers. As will this one probably.

While I agree with you to an extent, a lot of small businesses never recover from hurricanes due to higher rent, higher insurance, property damage and loss of business. So it does kind of suck for those guys.

Since when did the government care about the little guys to begin with?
Since when did the government care about the little guys to begin with?
Uhh, okay.
What I'm saying is that ~30 deaths is still worse than 0, and a good amount of jobs will still be lost due to the hurricane. Temporary clean up/repair jobs don't last more than a few weeks.
But yeah, it's no Katrina or 2004 Indonesian tsunami.

Gotta keep on eye on this one.

It formed 8 miles away from where Irene formed, something isn't right about this. I smell a conspiracy. /sarcasm

CNN has their own HAARP to create hurricanes to keep huge ratings!
I'm actually really hoping there's not another hurricane, because I'm not looking forward to another week of incessant coverage with them saying the same damn things every 5 min.
incessant coverage with them saying the same damn things every 5 min.
Ahh that drove me crazy. They acted like the storm was moving at 500mph. NWS is still posting about its whereabouts on Facebook.

HAARP could easily have something to do with this. A combination of HAARP and Chem trails have been confirmed to attract weather like a magnet. And that is confirmed by personnel who work with HAARP.
*Note* I am not one of those conspiracy people, but I am open to the possibility of anything, as all the human race should be.
I'm not disagreeing with you. HAARP facilities have readings off the chart when hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes happen all across the world.

Of course. Which is kindof disturbing. Every major earthquake that happened in the past 3 years, HAARP is was active and direct in that area. Glad to see another person who has their eyes open more than others. :)
Same to you. It's really too bad you get vilified with box forts if you even whisper the word conspiracy here, but whatever.

Right now it's anyones guess on where it could go but I'm guessing it's just going to turn off into the Atlantic right now. Unless weather patterns change within the next week or so, which they very while may.
[editline]30th August 2011[/editline]
Fun fact: This storm would have been named Katrina, had the name not been retired after fucking up New Orleans.

Their loss. Don't see how this is a conspiracy though, the fact's are right out in the open.

Welcome to hurricane watching. You never know where they will go until they hit. That's why the "Cone of Uncertainty" gets bigger as it goes out.

Delta is right anyway, though.
Ruling conspiracy out only leaves you susceptible to them. Aand I'm done.

Calling thing people don't want to believe easily is just plain ignorant though. Moving on I Irene wasn't fun, don't want another one.
