I was just at VA beach recently. I still can't believe it's illegal to use profanity there. Signs are all over forbidding it.
Another criminal act brought to you by the US Government.

Yeah, I just got power back today as well. There were two trees blocking the way out of our neighborhood for days, as well as holding down the power lines. Thank goodness there weren't any emergencies in our neighborhood at all after the storm. 22 houses had trees on them in our town, one of which falling through a room a whole entire family was sleeping in - nobody injured.

We had tons of that here in Maryland.
Sheesh...where do you live? We had tons of that here in Maryland.
Somerset, NJ. We're very, very lucky compared to some places in the county. Our neighborhood is too to be honest; I don't think any houses faced trees on them, and if they did, there wasn't really any structural damage. Some places aren't good though. I heard Manville made national news, with 1/3 houses flooded, and a lot of people just walking away. My Church is there. We had water on the ground level, and the Church is going through a very tricky time financially as is. How is it in Maryland? I have a friend heading to college there soon, if she hasn't already.

My house only had a flicker of power loss thankfully. A bunch of traffic lights are still out, annoyingly enough.

I remember we actually missed the storm becoming a hurricane - when the storm went over us overnight, it was already a tropical storm - but I thought the worst was gone after it had hit NYC and Vermont. Ah, that's very good. Traffic lights out can be bad - there's a few still on the major route in our town that are out - but at least it's pretty manageable compared to other damage.

Vermont got pretty fucked up. But yeah, tons of traffic lights are out around my house still. I'd imagine that BGE would take them as a priority, but I guess not.

Most of the flooding here is in North Jersey. My uncle's shorehouse in LBI wasn't even touched by the hurricane, lol. Hmm, maybe they're working on downed trees? For how bad our situation was, it took a number of days to lift the trees off of our neighborhood, and we considered the worst of the neighborhoods by most of the police. Traffic lights were up pretty soon though, so idk.

BGE handles the power issues, and they're doing so slowly. They still have like 80,000 people offline.
ITS COMING AT ME OSHITOSHIT, wait i live in Oregon. :D

Sometimes contractors or neighbors will get to work beforehand, but PSE&G pretty much has a monopoly on the process iirc. That said, in recent years it's become legal to have a 2nd publicly-owned electric company in the state, so I know nothing about non-PSE&G customers. AFAIK it's not any better.
