Christian rage is much more entertaining
Well, I'm agnostic.
That' like being Atheist but with morals.
:v:
No. Agnosticism says nothing about your beliefs on a deity - it's merely the belief that such matters are beyond our comprehension and/or unknowable. You can be an agnostic christian or an agnostic atheist. Agnosticism is not a religious declaration in itself.

Until they start a crusade and slaughter half the middle east

True
Fuck.
Do you seriously think that all morals come from The Bible?
Please tell me you don't.
[editline]fuck[/editline]
And what's with Christians and their sense of moral superiority?
I am agnostic/atheist and I do have to say that much of what we consider "morals" in this age came from the Bible and the things Jesus said in that book. I mean the stuff he said like "Don't judge people lol" and such were something that hadn't been considered/written down/ preached beforehand. So yeah, I'd say that morals would look quite different today if the Bible hadn't been written. We'd probably not bashing each other's heads in, but we'd maybe be a lot less nice.
just sayin
Wow, this is absolute bullshit. Theres no country law saying christians (or anyone else for that matter) have to go see it. It's completely by choice. I hate people for being this thick-headed. I thought the christian religion practiced being open minded. They certainly aren't doing so right now.
What are you, some neo-Nazi?
Also, what the fuck is with the 7-page argument? IT'S A FUCKING MOVIE. They choose whether to distribute it or not. Just because a few Atheists are pissed off doesn't mean they should show the movie if they don't want to. Get over it.
When you can give me a good reason that this movie was rejected, but Hostel was a perfectly acceptable movie to distribute, then I'll agree with you.
just sayin
I don't know how to reply. I guess I'll just call you stupid, because you kind of are.
I thought the christian religion practiced being open minded.
Are you kidding?
I don't know how to reply. I guess I'll just call you stupid, because you kind of are.
woah woah woah don't be mean, explain to me what was stupid about my post
Is somebody going to say "Only in America"?
Literally.
woah woah woah don't be mean, explain to me what was stupid about my post
You said that without The Bible, we would have no morals.
This is down to the worried distributors more than the evangelicalists.
However, I propose we ban every film ever made which features religion in any shape or form because that would make ever so much sense.
You said that without The Bible, we would have no morals.
no I didn't. Read again. I said that the Bible did introduce a lot of people to a new way of thinking back in the days. Of course we'd have morals without it.
I'll just watch it on megavideo or some shit when it comes out on DVD :v:, better than going to the theaters and seeing shit tons of protesters like the Da Vinci Code and being hatted on
no I didn't. Read again. I said that the Bible did introduce a lot of people to a new way of thinking back in the days.
Not really. It was used to oppress and control people, and it still is today.
Not really. It was used to oppress and control people, and it still is today.
Yes. I agree.
I'm going to go and see this movie just so I can support the people who made it and just because I can. America is the shittiest country in the world unless you're insane.
I'm going to go and see this movie just so I can support the people who made it and just because I can. America is the shittiest country in the world unless you're insane.
Can't agree with you more. America fucking blows now. Everything has just become shitty here.
And what if nobody did? It kinda breaks your materialistic logic, that everything must have been done by someone, or something, but there been must have once a start, didn't it?
If god came from nothing, what's so absurd about the universe coming from nothing?
Agreed.
Atheists are always whining about how religious people and creationists put them down, when really religists and creationists get more shit from Atheists than they give them.
Every time someone mentions religion or creation every Atheist is like "HOLY SHIT YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT IGNORANT PIECE OF SHIT ATHEISTS ARE BETTER WE'RE ALWAYS RIGHT". No one's right or wrong in the creation vs. atheism argument, as no substantial proof exists for both sides to prove one over the other.
HOWEVER.
As the burden of proof lies with the person making the claim, and you have presented no testable, observable hypothesis for anything that you claim to be the truth, we're right by default.
This does not mean that Atheism absolutely is true(As there can be no absolute truth in science(Except for math)), it just means that that's the most logical and scientifically correct explanation at the moment, if you have a theory that accurately explains the phenomenon of our world, and makes predictions about it, using God, then you're very welcome to contribute this piece to the scientific community. I assure you they'd be happy to try and poke holes in it.
In the unlikely event that your theory survives the scrutiny of the scientific method, I, along with any other person with half a brain, and some trust in the scientific community wouldn't have a problem "converting" to that belief, and whatever facts may be connected to it. That is, until a new and better explanation comes along, cause such is the world of science.
Edit:
As for the thread, I am happy I don't live in America right now, as I can't wait to see this movie.
If god is allmighty, he must be able to see in the future, and if he could see in the future, he could see that humans became evil and would kill each other. Doesn't that make god the evil guy for creating such evilness (us).
God doesn't control the world directly, that goes directly against his policy of free will.
Agreed. I'm glad I live in Australia.
Statisctics might say that around 75% of us are religious, but I don't think I've ever really met anyone (At least not that I can recall, and aside from people like my grand parents) that believes in a god.
God doesn't control the world directly, that goes directly against his policy of free will.
Time is relative and (in a sense of the word) free will is an illusion.
What I mean by that is that you still make your decisions, but you make those decisions based on past experiences/genetic predispositions toward certain emotions.
If you trace back the reasons for those dispositions/experiences billions of years to the beginning of the universe, then since god is omniscient, when he created the universe he knew exactly what would happen and how people would act.
Probably because FP has a disproportionately high percentage of atheists.
I'd say the percentage of anti-theists would be more disproportionate.
The problem with that is, man created God. He only exists in the minds of the demented.
Don't insult dementia like that.
God doesn't control the world directly, that goes directly against his policy of free will.
Then why do people pray?
I think the Emperor of mankind is someone way better to believe in.
I think the Emperor of mankind is someone way better to believe in.
Like Dr. Breen in your avatar?
At least science has proof. A usual evangelical Christians argument is:
'LOLZ WAT HAPPEN B4 BIGBANG - U DUNT KNO!! THERE MUST BE A GOD LOLOLOLOL'
Translation - Bullshit.
Just because you can't disprove something doesn't mean it's there morons. And although religion has been somewhat helpful for sustenance and maintenance in the past, it is now completely obsolete.
And to be honest, even if religion does make people ‘more ethical’ (which it doesn’t), it still doesn’t mean that it’s true (which it’s not).
Why are all of your posts just "lol, (insert two-word phrase here)?"
Why are all of your posts just "God doesn't exist and all non-evolutionists are idiots"? Also, other posts of yours are just "I want to kill all non-evolutionists", such as your comment about killing the people who protested this movie with a tank.
