Whereas Christianity discourages gaining scientific knowledge and encourages blind faith and ignorance.
As funny as this is, the director is bullshitting. If you watch the trailer the whole movie is going like OH MISTER DARWIN THIS IS AMAZING YOUR THEORY OF EVOLUTION HAS ~DISPROVED GOD~ IF PEOPLE LEARN YOUR THEORY NOBODY WILL BELIEVE IN GOD ~EVER AGAIN~ PS RELIGION IS FOR FAGGOTS
So it's probably more that than just the fact that evolution is in it. The director is pushing a very strong (and historically bs) agenda
Good point. You can state your beliefs, but the director took it from a logical argument to outright slander of religion.
I'm not religious, I'm creationist, but wouldn't mind hearing what this movie has to say as long as they have solid evidence. Of course, if all it is is "DARWIN WROTE THIS BOOK WE FOUND A FOSSIL THAT MEANS GOD DOESN'T EXIST RELIGIOUS PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS ENJOY THE MOVIE", I'd be all for keeping it out of a country. Odd though how the our majority is Christian yet no controversy has arisen yet over this movie, but America, who like I said seem more evolutionist than religious, ban it.
who the fuck rejected this
I'm going to beat them up
holy fuck americans this is why you are still living in your own filth
Well why don't you put your faith (if you'll excuse the expression) into rational scientists who are actually looking for the answers, rather than bigoted religious leaders who purport they know everything about the universe and that anyone who believes otherwise is a heretic. 'Bigoted religious leaders?' I don't think you know what you're talking about, son.
And yet Muslim countries are called backward
Hello America, welcome to the past. We hunt witches here too.
Compare this to The Passion which is 3 hours of goreporn and it gets rated G.

Rated R for sequences of graphic violence.
Just because a group of people is Conservative doesn't mean they're foolish and ignorant.
'Bigoted religious leaders?' I don't think you know what you're talking about, son.
Elaborate.
lol
He was referring I believe to conservatism (keeping the beliefs of the past) and mocking it.
Whatever it'll find a distributor eventually.

Okay? The religious beliefs of the past should be mocked.
Fuck my country in the ass
yes it does
Society was better in the 1700s and 1800s than it is today. The only thing is though in Ameria there should have been rights for foreigners then, as in those days, they got treated like shit.
Okay? The religious beliefs of the past should be mocked.
Explain why, as your claim makes no sense right now.
there are no words to explain the stupidity of america and its citizens
there are no words to explain the stupidity of america and its citizens
The movie openly slandered religion and harshly mocked the people who follow it. You can have arguments about creationism vs. evolution without complete disregard for the other group's beliefs. Hell, why is religion even discussed in evolution arguments? Creationism and Religion are two entirely different things.

If you're being serious, you're an idiot.
If you're not being serious, you're and unfunny idiot.
This is stupid. Really stupid.
Okay? The religious beliefs of the past should be mocked.
Not really, while religions have stunted the developement of science, religion was one of the first things that brought people together. Most of today's cities were build around churches.
Well why don't you put your faith (if you'll excuse the expression) into rational scientists who are actually looking for the answers, rather than bigoted religious leaders who purport they know everything about the universe and that anyone who believes otherwise is a heretic. 1. I don't really know what is the movie about, and I didn't even say if it's right or wrong they banned it. As far as I know, Darwin never tried to prove that religion was wrong by whole, and that god does not exist (now again I am not sure, this comes just from my poor information about him), but I am afraid that the movie portraits him as a fighter against religion, trying to hang pope with his massive beard, because that's the way many movie scenarist tend to bend real historical stories to give them some sparks. If this is true, I am against this movie. If the movie is really historically accurate without any additions and dramatizations, I am not against it.
2. I am fully for scientific research of universe. I don't take bible literally from like my 6 years, and none scientific discovery weakens my deity at all. Yes, I agree that people who hold on the literal explanation of bible in style that god created every creature on earth using some kind of Spore Creature Creator is wrong. However, nobody will persuade me that there is no real god.
Just for information, I am going to technical school, and I am looking forward to studying more physics, mainly quantum and astronomical, in the future, so I am no way against scientific progress.
there are no words to explain the stupidity of america and its citizens
Only the ones who were against this movie.

yeah, women and blacks don't need rights
laborers don't need unions
slaves were good for the economy
oh and the meat packing industry was "a-okay!"
If you're being serious, you're an idiot.

Yes, I'm being entirely serious. Give me an example of how society was worse then (except for "witch hunt" rights and lack of foreigners' rights).
Also, why was Religulous showed? The guy in it was challenging the Christian beliefs.
Once again, Religion makes everything worst. Probably rednecks in the south would be offended.
oh and the meat packing industry was "a-okay!"
I'm talking about society, not industry.
