gmod is saying that many people are forgetting what is wrong, and just doing something because it is their " life style "
that is the wrongs of society
As an American, I am furious with this crap. "A film documentary about Science? BLASPHEMY! God forbid this trash be shown to our children! They shall not be brainwashed more than they need to BE!", I am disappointed and angered by the nonsense America is pulling. The shit that's been happening here, the crap that's been pulled, the morons that live around me... After College, I've thought about not staying in New York, but now, I might as well move out of the fucking country.
I'm not saying we were right, but every other nation was also; hell, even America went over and killed innocent Africans attempting to stop the Barbary Pirates. Today they're killing innocent people in the Middle East attempting to stop imaginary terrorists.
Imaginary terrorists? Ha, haha, funny. Because obviously the people fighting against American troops in the Middle East are Americans disguised as Arabs.

It's not a documentary.
Imaginary terrorists? Ha, haha, funny. Because obviously the people fighting against American troops in the Middle East are Americans disguised as Arabs.
They're not terrorists we're fighting.
Yes, the raping and pillaging of an entire continent is vastly preferable to civilian casualties in a war
The world is going to hell in a handbasket
If I'm not mistaken, Britain brought reform to India. They ended human sacrifice, slave trade, bloody tribal wars, and improved the economy vastly.
America's gone over to the Middle East to pillage its oil, but what reforms has it brought? None. All it's done is cause intentional civilian casualties and use propaganda to make it look like people rebelling against America's rule there are terrorists.
the problem with with brainwashing and science and religion is that
join a religious establishment and you will be taken advantage of and brainwashed
join an educational institution and you will still be brainwashed but subtly enough for you not to notice it
there are very few people who aren't on either sides of the extremes
it's a problem you just can't find a solution to, no point trying to stop it
They're not terrorists we're fighting.
Well, you got me there, but the terrorists sure aren't imaginary.
Imaginary terrorists? Ha, haha, funny. Because obviously the people fighting against American troops in the Middle East are Americans disguised as Arabs.
They're militia attempting to repel American invaders, not terrorists. Just because a person attacks an American soldier doesn't mean they're a terrorist.
Also I call bullshit on this because no one even considered protesting Religulous.
That was a good movie btw.
Well, you got me there, but the terrorists sure aren't imaginary.
Indeed. Terrorists do exist, but thats not who America is fighting and that's not the reason America even started the Iraq War.

you seem not to understand the concept of sovereignty, one nation simply cannot walk into another nation and tell them what to do - that's immoral
you criticize America for doing it, yet England did it for a good reason?

the difference between science and religion is that religious institutions do not admit when they are wrong as it will diminish their influence - science (if taught and utilized properly) will replace outdated theories with newer ones using the scientific method and they are more than happy to do so (yes, I admit this is not always the case).
a) You're basing you're argument off something you know nothing about.
b) You contradict yourself.
Well if you're studying astronomical physics, then you should know why we don't know what was before the Big Bang.
a) I am basing my argument on reference from TH98, and from the fact that the movie was banned. I am pretty sure that if it was accurate and fair, historical movie, the ban would not pass.
b) Where?

I was a bit offended by it, but I did laugh at times.
Darwin is one of the most religiously-sensitive scientists of all bloody time; he held back his theory of Natural Selection for fifteen years and only released it when people were beginning to release similiar ideas!
To quote him, in fact, he thought that he'd made a grave mistake releasing the theory as "it would lead to the ruin and decay of morals throughout society".

Might be because Religulous was made by a popular American comedian, whereas this is focused on a Science Guy a lot of Americans don't care about that much.

No, England should have left India alone, but look what happened because of it. India became prosperous, bloody tribal practices were ended, slavery was ended, the society was made better. I'm not saying the end justifies the means, but at least Britain had some good intentions, unlike America.

He several times in his books said his ideas could never be proven, and hinted to them not being true at times.

good intentions? are you kidding me
England went to India for PROFIT, did you miss the whole section about colonization in your history books?

It's not banned. They just couldn't find a company who was willing to publish their movie in America.

Not the mention the largest and most exploitive mega-corporation in all of the worlds history literally owned vast swaths of India.
It makes my stomach contort whenever I hear "Evolution is just a theory"
God damn it., fuck religion, let us see the movie.
I like how Passion of the Christ got distributed and became the most successful R-rated film in the United States, but a film about Charles Darwin is "too controversial."
Dammit why did Carl Sagan have to die so soon! Things have turned to shit since he left!

After the conquest, England, shocked by how barbaric India was, reformed it. After an invasion, they wanted to help the people.
