No it isn't lol Do corporate interests in America really have the public believing this shit It's worse than I thought
Yes it is. He worked as a coca-cola delivery man... how is that a career? Or is that not his fault.
Well what else are you supposed to do. Obviously they can't work for money while being in a cell, so how would they be able to pay for healthcare?
Yes they can. And they do. They work in-prison for money.
On the flip side here in Canada, citizens who don't contribute a damn thing here in Canada (skip taxes, bringing massive families here) leach off of our healthcare, and if you're going to the ER you better find something to do while you're there. I was at the ER for 6 hours before I left, since I'm (slightly) under the legal age of an adult, I had to wait in the children's queue. For hours, all I saw were other people being bumped ahead of me with 'serious injuries' (or soccer moms yelling at the receptionist about their kids cough) There's no real inbetween system, but it's not right if the guy has to commit a crime just to get his healthcare
Still like the Canadian system better
Im surprised there hasn't been a post yet saying that we need to take health care away from prisoners to stop this.
Yes they can. And they do. They work in-prison for money.
It's very low amounts but you do have the option of a job. You can buy cigarettes and other things there.
It's so fucking sad someone has to do this just to stay healthy.
Yes it is. He worked as a coca-cola delivery man... how is that a career? Or is that not his fault.
Not everyone has the skills or opportunity to be a nuclear physicist. Are you seriously suggesting that people without great jobs deserve to go untreated?
It's funny because people in jail are better off than some out of jail! :downs:
Roughly 5% of the population disagrees with you.
If it's only 5% then they're not the "average" citizen [editline]21st June 2011[/editline]
Like was said before, prisoners are offered jobs for meager amount of money, still enough to buy small amounts of things, though. And, if you bothered to read the article he said he was in almost unbearable pain, he applied for disabilities pay but was refused. You tell me how you're supposed to work efficiently while in constant pain. Face it, health care in America is backwards.
I agree it definitely needs some big change but I was just pointing out that most law abiding citizens have the means to pay for it but there are special cases like this.
Yes it is. He worked as a coca-cola delivery man... how is that a career? Or is that not his fault.
Are you retarded or what
Yes it is. He worked as a coca-cola delivery man... how is that a career? Or is that not his fault.
Is this serious? No doubt it's a better career than what you have. Some people aren't qualified to be a doctor or a lawyer...
People always make fun of jobs and careers choices that those very same people would be very at a loss without.
Yes it is. He worked as a coca-cola delivery man... how is that a career? Or is that not his fault.
You know somebody has to drive the coca-cola truck. Someone has to check the tickets on the subway. You may not think so but the majority of jobs in America are mundane and not ones people would consider "careers". But they're jobs that have to be done regardless, and for a lot of people they'd be really thankful to have a career driving a coca-cola truck.
... TBH its his fault for not finding a better spot in the ranks of the workforce. ...
It's his fault for being so old that he couldn't get the jobs! He should try being younger.
On the flip side here in Canada, citizens who don't contribute a damn thing here in Canada (skip taxes, bringing massive families here)
If they're not paying their taxes it isn't the system's fault. You're basically blaming the road for people speeding
are you a communist? this man does NOT deserve my hard earned tax dollars. if he can't afford health care on his own then that's his own damn fault.
See, that's what I can't understand. It's not like the average person decides, "you know what? I'm not going to be insured! Yeah, fuck insurance!" Why do people love blaming the poor? Everyone's going on about how lousy the job market is, so why can't some people understand the fact that it's really fucking important?
Yes it is. He worked as a coca-cola delivery man... how is that a career? Or is that not his fault.
You dumbshit, not everyone can be successful doctor lawyer.
doctor lawyer.
Some people are doctors and lawyers at the same time? :aaaaa:
Some people are doctors and lawyers at the same time? :aaaaa:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_of_law Funnily enough.
This is why I love the Netherlands
To quote Eisenhower:
If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking is freedom.

Yes it is. He worked as a coca-cola delivery man... how is that a career? Or is that not his fault.
This just in, if you're not wearing a tie and turning hundreds of thousands in cash, it's not a career
Well he would have gotten free quality healthcare in the UK and in many other countries. Y u no NHS America?
Oh comments section
This criminal terrorized the people in the bank and committed a serious felony. He should in no way be rewarded or commended for his actions. His actions were nothing more than an attempt to get a handout. It's disgusting.
I hate people
Haha! I was thinking "What if someone purposely went to prison due to food and a place to say" for months now and it finally happened!
At some point the US is going to have to reform to stop this kind of glaring inequality.
Not to mention free.
And this just shows how fucking stupid the US health care system is.
You know something's wrong when prisoners get free health care but law-abiding citizens don't.
There's nothing wrong with that. I mean.. You know something's DEFINITELY wrong inside the prison walls where people require free healthcare, due to the stabbings and the drugs.. They definitely need the healthcare.
