I'm not concerned about the trackball, I'm concerned about the death of mobile devices that are actually usable for typing things on.
I don't know about you but all blackberrys had way too small buttons to type properly. I can type faster and more precise on a virtual keyboard.
My android phone crashed when you started Google Maps. If you want to get into bugs I can nitpick Android for hours.
Where did I say all android phones are good? All I said is RIM has fundamentally failed to deliver a functional product for years, and the sales figures show it.
I talked to a guy who was basically an accountant/insurance type working at blackberry. He says it was so horribly managed it was comical. This was in 2010 when things weren't horrible but they were looking down. He needed their sales forecast for the next 2 years to properly do whatever he was doing. At first they refused and said no that's confidential but he said "I literally can't do my job if you don't give them to me, you have to" so they do. They act like it is some super secret confidential formula and at the time only the top top guys knew the real numbers and it ends up being like 500 million this year, 1 billion next year, 4 billion the next, something hilariously simplistic. Him:"uh... so you think you're really gonna quadruple your profits in 2 years?" manager: "oh yeah definitely!" He started looking for a new job that winter cause he knew they were fucked.
Once you use a touchscreen enough, you get used to the keyboard. I can type just as fast if no faster on my iPhone than on a regular keyboard, with he only problem being that sometimes the phone itself can't keep up with the speed that I'm typing at. I can't use a Blackberry keyboard worth shit, and it blows my mind how people tear through it.
What's the military going to do? I know for high security areas they issue a special bb with no camera and a big ole 'DOD CERTIFIED' sticker where a camera should be, you cant use any other cell phones there. The government purposefully choose not to use android or I phones because they're not as secure as bb. It will be interesting to see what the government does.
How are Android or iOS not as secure as BB? Especially iOS which only allows apps from the App Store
How are Android or iOS not as secure as BB? Especially iOS which only allows apps from the App Store
BB used mandatory encryption that went beyond the national requirement. This coupled with the other features like no camera, intense app screening and a keyboard meant that for business it was the device of choice. BB's tools were also some of the best around.
BlackBerry is stupid they died out because they can't compete its just the way things work. Its good for consumers because where we spend our money shows what we want and its showing no one wants BlackBerry. Although I'll agree I feel bad for the employees :(
I'm not concerned about the trackball, I'm concerned about the death of mobile devices that are actually usable for typing things on.
I got a pull out keyboard with my android, not a chance in hell I'd consider buying one that doesn't have that. Everybody made jokes and comments about how I'm like the only guy who still has a pullout keyboard, then when I need to borrow friends phones and stuff like that the lower section of their screen is fucking covered in smudge marks and grease, touch screens are just awful for typing on. [editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
Nah those buttons are just tiny as fuck, looks like they were designed for a baby's hands.
I just type with the corners on my thumbs
My android phone is a buggy crash-riddled piece of crap. Dad isn't impressed with his Note either. I"ll probably be moving to a Windows phone next.
Just save yourself some time and buy an iPhone and an iPad.
I'd like a big blackberry with a good keyboard. Something you can actually word process on. For now though, I'll be investing into a tablet with a keyboard.
I live in kitchener, I'm in an IT program in school, FUCK THERE GOES MY FUTURE JOB
Just save yourself some time and buy an iPhone and an iPad.
The saying goes time is money but not THAT much money, you can get the best android phone out there for less than half the price of an iPhone Anyway, Blackberry gave it a good last shot. Looks like it wasn't enough. Competition is healthy but Blackberry had nothing to bring to the table. Their last selling point as a phone is the physical keypad that people like, and even though there are other phones with physical keypads, Blackberry seems the go-to phone for them. In the same way that people thought BBM was something unique and special and nothing else like it could be found on other phones
wat
How constructive.
They'd probably be the only Android phones with a fucking keyboard too, why are there no top-tier phones with a god damn keyboard.
phone keyboards are usually very cheap. touch applications like swype and google's new keyboard functions is way faster [editline]21st September 2013[/editline] they also cost more to produce
Isn't BBM for drug dealers and naughty people?
