I dont think you are following.
this has little to do with their abilities to fight anyone, but has more to do with how they develop as characters, and their contribution to the story.
I found most of the female characters forced, and boring.
you keep saying that, but I still have no idea what you're talking about.
What was forced about them? What was their development missing that it logically should have had?

They were forced in the way that they were absolute saviors.. with only good qualities.
contra Immorton Joe and his lackeys who were obviously pure evil characters.
Max and Nux were the only really interesting characters, because we got to see why they were "good" or "evil" as the movie progressed.
it made me care about them.
Furiosa was the only interesting female character, but she didnt progress as much (in my opinion) because a lack of "negative" traits she could lose, and "positive" traits she could gain, because she is statically good, from the beginning of the movie.
The men in the film sacrificed themselves so that the nurturing and caring, but strong and independent women with no character flaws and sad backgrounds could save the oppressed people of the desert city.
The men in the film were mostly depicted as suicidal zealots who only cared about their own survival or glory, while the women were the ones with culture and history.
I really enjoyed the movie, but seriously, it was some forced feminism in there, and I personally didnt like it. anyone else can have their own opinion
Hey look its the Red pill
Hopefully Max will actually have more than five minutes of dialogue the entire movie this time around.

She's a survivalist murderer who kills dozens of people without a second a thought, all to help herself and the few people she cares about. Just because she kills people in the name of an agreeable cause doesn't mean she's pure good. She'd have killed Max and Nux both if she had the chance.
Everyone in the movie is looking out for themselves first because the people who didn't got killed a long time ago. Except the wives.
They were clumsy, immature, somewhat dim witted and mostly useless. But they meant well, and they cared about others. They weren't angels, they just weren't assholes in a world where only assholes survive.
Again, I don't see what's forced about that. People like that exist.
And bullshit, Furiosa matured the same as everyone else. [sp]She learned to fight for what she believed in instead of just to survive. And it was Max who taught it to her, no less.[/sp]
The only thing I'm worried about is there won't be anymore War Boys, because they're fucking awesome.
Anyone who thinks this movie is feminist propaganda swallowed the marketing bait whole
In fact one could easily view every female character in this film as utterly incompetent. Not going to post spoilers, but you very well could see it that way.

Im not sure abolishing the belief of Valhalla is going to be easy.
If the movie is set with some different desert tribe/society, there is opportunity for something completely different but equally awesome :)
hopefully, we will see those maniacs again
furiosa is a fucking badass
this 'feminist propaganda' bs is one of the dumbest criticisms i've heard in a while

Wow, a society and universe where gender roles are treated different than in our own world? MUCH FEMINAZI
Every time a thread making fun of MRAs shows up on Facepunch, some show up a few days later

It's funny because they make feminist propaganda films sound awesome
I hope flamethrower-guitar guy comes back in some form
[Sp]but I'm not holding any breaths[/sp]
Apparently they did have two other scripts already written and greenlit if this movie was a hit, though I hope they have as much attention to detail as this one did, its like 2001 space odyssey in its perfect filmography

Its not forced feminism, the women explain briefly that they read a lot of books in their vault, they were for any intensive purpose, the most educated literate people there, they spouted off Shakespeare during the chases. The men however were practical, savage and bush smart, but so was furoisa and her tribeswomen, so its not clear cut, ya there wasn't any educated men in that film, but that's coincidental because that didn't fit with the plot to have a smart guy along for the ride because he would have had to have been smuggled out with the slaves too and that's not really what furiosa would do
Anyone claiming there's a feminist agenda hasn't seen this movie and just watched it and let it sink in
Seriously stop over analyzing it, its a 2 hour car chase with some pretty amazing fights that really harken back to its road warrior roots, character development isn't going to be all that big to begin with but that they even stuck the right amount in is perfect
I hope the next film is slower paced and more about exploration and worldbuilding. I want to see wasteland culture up close, and I want to see Gastown.

I would rather want to see the bullet farm because ammo is even harder to find, and they probably had more working guns in this than all the other movies combined

The only reason I doubt that is because guzzeline is kind of a major plotpoint/reason the world went to shit.

I like how you think MRA is a slur.

Something MRA's accomplished themselves. Seriously, MRA and internet feminists have more in common than they think.

oh my fucking god are you 12? are you seriously this idiotic? there are no "political messages" in Mad Max ffs why is this a thing?
It's a fun action movie set in a dying earth. is it SERIOUSLY that much of a problem if one of the badasses in that universe is a woman? All your posts about it make you sound like a petulant child.
Going to the local Odeon cinema with my brother to watch this on wednesday, if anyone has seen it will it live upto the first three movies?
It'll be better
Loved Fury road, and held turn to the older Mad max films.
I'm shocked people still think feminism in inherently bad and that great female characters in a movie equals "feminazism"
Feminism or not, I'm still seeing it for the 2nd time tonight.
Eat that, MRAs
He'll be dead in another 30 years. Fury Road took 30 years.
The time between each title is not linear.
1979 - 2 years - 1981 - 4 years - 1985 - 30 years - 2015
I estimate the next Mad Max movie to come out around the time we establish our first colony on Mars. Who knows, maybe that movie will be set on Mars... Enough desert up there.

Mad Max: Beyond Biodome?
Mad Max: Beyond Biodome?
Mad Mars? Also, yay second movie, nay this thread's threads' argument. Mad max universe is a perfect example of gender equality - tits or dicks, one way or another, this world will fuck you up unless you bite back.
first time i've ever watched a mad max movie and i loved it. one little bit i particularly liked was the aesthetic a lot of the technology and whatnot has. it's all very rough and improvised looking. i particularly liked that ridiculous fire breathing guitar.
