Why is there power to some of the lights? They didn't shut off the remaining power lines to the exclusion zone?
There are still people and governement operating in the zone, they need power

Ah, right. I forgot to think about that. It just strikes me as odd. Those are some sad photos though. Just look at the school one, and think about all those children who were rushed out and probably confused and panicked. They will most likely never go back to their homes, which sure is sad.
And now is the time for Mother Nature to reclaim her lost territories.

Pretty damn fascinating, really. It's very much a humbling experience to be reminded of what can happen when things go wrong, despite this being a one-in-a-billion occurrence or so. Nuclear power is a beast to be respected.
I've been without internet for 10 days.
What happened.
Worldwide nuclear apocalypse 8 days ago
80% of the globe is dead
I'm running the internet off a diesel generator here
I actually teared up flicking through these photos, this really sucks, but it's great that they're making progress with a recovery atleast
i really want to go an explore there. I reckon it would be facinating. Although highly unsettling.

Not to mention radioactive.
Well off to get a Bandit Suit and to find some railing so I can shout to everyone to get out of here
Crazy how much growth comes up from these places after just a couple of months of not being used
That was an interesting 'read'.
While I don't wish this sort of harm to anybody or any particular civilization, I find it really interesting and exiting what's happening here.

The aftermath of disasters is always interesting, regardless of those affected.

God bless you, Zeke. I don't know how we survivors would have communicated or organised rendezvous without you running the entire internet for us. You truly are a king among men.
Now send me all your bottle caps or I turn the generator off
Well I guess that is the kind of thing a king would do, so... okay!

And then you'll get thyroid cancer.

Seems like stray dogs are doing pretty well.
Then again dogs move in packs which gives them protection and advantage in hunting.
Still really eerie to see lights still working there in some parts.

Wtf is that guy doing there?
There are still people that live in Chernobyl, you know.
Those pictures are pretty neat.
I would do anything to be able to go walk around there for a while. Abandoned places are so fucking cool
There are still people that live in Chernobyl, you know.
Yeah, but they live on the borders of the Zone of alienation. Not right next to Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station.

They actually live in Kiev, from what i've heard there's a very very small community there. they're mainly old people who didn't want to leave and their descendants.
Well, I know where the next Fallout or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will take place.
Japan wouldnt really fit the style of Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Fallout just has the feeling of cold war america, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R has a feeling unique to Ukraine and the Chernobyl incident.

Too bad it's a Duty guy who says it

I feel bad for the dogs, and my older dog looks very much like them as she's half Akita.
How big is this exclusuon zone compared to chernobyl?
