Lesbian kicked off Southwest Airline flight for kissing her girlfriend
What exactly makes you assume that's what happened? and if someone DID get grossed out they're childish.
for fucks sake the attendant said "this is a 'family' airline" and she didn't mean family as in for people with kids she meant the fact that they were gay.
Hey, I'm just assuming this is an understandable situation. Nobody would get kicked off a plane just for kissing, and I have enough faith in people to assume it wasn't because they were lesbians.
And when did I say getting grossed out like that wasn't childish? It is, but I'm assuming they politely asked them to stop first.
It's funny because it isn't. You ever hear of a straight couple getting kicked off a plane for kissing, or do you think it just has never happened on a Southwest plane?
That's why I reckon she got a bit mad about being asked to stop. I mean, a straight couple wouldn't need to feel persecuted, right?

that's really really naive dude

well you should probably stop making assumptions in order to support your beliefs because there's only one story that's been presented and that story says they were asked to stop after only a short kiss.

what is this "need to feel persecuted" garbage?
that's really really naive dude
What, hoping that the plane wasn't entirely staffed by homophobes is naive?

And she's probably biased as fuck.
what is this "need to feel persecuted" garbage?
People are jumping to the assumption it was because she wasn't straight that she was kicked out. Who's to say she didn't do the same?
What, hoping that the plane wasn't entirely staffed by homophobes is naive?
it doesn't have to be entirely staffed by homophobes, there just needs to be one one board: the stewardess who asked them to leave
And she's probably biased as fuck.
She certainly knows a lot more about what went on than you, random internet guy. this isn't even a proper context for the word "biased".
People are jumping to the assumption it was because she wasn't straight that she was kicked out. Who's to say she didn't do the same?
the stewardess used the justification "this is a family airline." i'd say that that's a pretty obvious hint at the whole "family values" thing that is so often used as a slight against homosexuals
just don't think that you're all-knowing. why does every scrub on the internet always have to think that they know more about a news story than anyone actually involved in the story itself and that they can pass judgment on everybody involved from an ocean away?

just have some darn humility wrt to your own knowledge of the events
Well, to play Devil's Advocate, perhaps we've never heard of straight couples being kicked off because they either played by the rules without feeling persecuted or weren't celebrities and didn't publicly complain about it?
That said this IS Southwest airlines, deep in the US, and in all likelihood the initial hostility was in fact because they're gay. But we'd need to see it to really understand what happened. Both sides are being intentionally vague about the whole thing. Don't see a problem with boycotting them though, they have done some dumb shit in the past and if that pulls your moral strings go for it.
Straight couple has sex on the plane's seat, nothing
Gay couple kisses because they love each other,GET THE FUCK OFF YA SINNERS EWWW YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALIVE,YA FAGGOTS/LESBOS
I can't help but feel they twisted this story, there's probably more to it than "Oh, we're lesbians being discriminated against!".
If it was an "off to work honey, love you" sort of kiss then I'd have to say discrimination, but I don't see any reason why people need to be able to make out in front of everyone on an airplane.

Exactly what I meant.

I don't think people can bump uglies and not get kicked off.

Unless you're a member of the Mile High Club.
I can understand why they told her not to kiss.
Kissing is a biological, natural and loving thing.
Need more information before it just ends up as some homophobic company thing, maybe they were going at it, and it's said they created a scene so ie. raising voices, anger. I'm sorry but if you yell on a plane in the states your getting kicked off.
Kissing is a biological, natural and loving thing.
I would like to make two points;
The first is that we're mammals, flying, pointing back to the Russel video posted by someone earlier.
My second point is that procreation is also natural, continue your point?

No, nor have I heard of a gay couple getting kicked off for kissing before. Is this a frequent occurrence that I just havent heard about?
Its dumb to just immediately scream "HOMOPHOBIA" because the couple getting kicked off just happened to be gay. If there was a reason for me to believe this was a consistent problem then I would agree that Southwest is discriminating, but as of now, you just seem to be jumping to conclusions without any real statistical basis.
Of course, If you do have some sort of basis for your claim I'd be very interested (and honestly, not too surprised) to see it.
Maybe they thought that the concept of homosexuality was too harsh for the minds of children...nah they were probably mingling about homosexuals once they saw the Spongebob episode where Spongebob and Patrick decide to play "family". They were probably laughing their ass off thinking that it was part of a huge joke, oh the sweet ignorance and unexcepted harshness of youth.
When I first read the title thought they kicked lesbians off the plane mid-flight? I clicked on this thread with the funniest mental image this board has ever given me.
Boycott Southwest anyone?

tbh I think this should just be put at the top of every single news thread judging by how every single discussion seems to have people making up a story based on their own preconceptions and then making a judgment according to that story.
My second point is that procreation is also natural, continue your point?
Sure.
Kissing isn't illegal. Being naked in public is.

It's within our legal rights to complain about what they did. As well as choose to boycott them or petition them to change their policies.
Having the right to do something doesn't make it consequence free.

I highly doubt it's South West Airline policy to kick gay people off for kissing.
It could have been just a stewardess in a really shitty mood. One employee doesn't represent the entire company.
Complete over reaction, I could predict my reaction in that situation...

A refund or apology from the company would be appropriate. Basic PR.
If it's been released I would like to know if South West released a statement, apology, or has a list of their policies up regarding issues like this and similar.
I don't like seeing people kissing in public overall. In the same sense they should be kicking out straight couples kissing then, and fat chance that's going to happen
P.S I don't mean it as in I'm oh so offended by it and I don't think they should be taken off the flight
I would not mind watching two hot guys kissing.

Nothing says that they would have to be naked. I would design a special double-onesie to counter your point, if you get my drift.
Somewhat reminded me of that one girl in my college who got a red kiss mark tatooed on her ass.
