If you pre-order/buy this for PS4/Xbone, why would you care about this?
Most of us play on PC.
I didn't think the E3 demo even looked all that good. It's looks like just... running through the level killing shit. Like it's just a linear... shooting... game... without any other gameplay

There's going to be exploration to a degree at least, the double jump combined with off-the-beaten-path routes were confirmed to allow for more than just one route to shoot through in a sense. But it's Doom. Are you expecting it to not be the quintessential corridor shooter?
It looked really shitty from the trailers anyways, I had 0 hype the second I saw the gameplay footage.
Doom should be at the forefront of gore, speed, and all around brainless fun fps killing. Nothing shown in Doom 4 has any of that, the gore is laughable and doesnt even look good.
This shit is just an even bigger nail in the coffin if it turns out to be true. One of the major reasons Doom is still fucking alive today is because of mods.
mod support or no mod support, the game just looks boring

You've seen a grand total of 10 minutes of very early gameplay

Why would you play a hackneyed version of doom on a console in the first place? That's absolutely retarded. No sense or respect for capitalism right there. Buying things on a whim.
Silly.
...To support the devs?
Man, I dunno, guess I'll better pirate everything then or something :excited:
Why would you support Bethesda, or Zenimax? They don't exactly have the best track record.
Why would you support Bethesda, or Zenimax? They don't exactly have the best track record.
Probably because they've given me countless hours of entertainment from playing their games?
That's a fucking stupid question.
Someone's gonna make impse in Doom4 anyway, just out of pure spite.

Zenimax, sure but Bethesda? The games they publish are pretty damn good (Dishonored for example) and they've always had a great community support. Fuck off.
Doom 1/2 is still a hot topic for modders 21 years on. People STILL are modding for it, and likely buying it.

I mean, Doom I and II were that. But... today we kind of expect more from a videogames. the 1990s were just senselessly violent and low brow. Today we have a much higher ability to produce games more than just violent shoot em ups and producing a modern looking reboot of those 1990s games feels like... they would be better suited in 1998 than today.

What if senselessly violent and low brow is fun? Yeah there are more games today that have big involved plots than were then, but at least for me, I'm more concerned that the game is fun than if it has intriguing plot and character development. Additionally, uninteresting plot and character development could make an otherwise fun game pretty unenjoyable. Obviously Doom 1 and 2 are still played today, and other corridor shooters that were similarly easy on plots like Quake 1/2 and Half Life were successful as well. Obviously they're making the game closer to it's predecessors, so they must think there's a significant enough group of consumers looking for just a simple shooter. I personally miss seeing a simple alien/monster invasion, and still play Doom, HL, and Quake because I don't have to think too hard about what's going on. I'm great, monsters are bad, shoot all the monsters.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to disparage you or your opinion. I will agree that the executions are pretty over the top for my tastes and it could very well be a flop and criticized for being all guns no story. But it's also possible, that there is a significant enough group of people who just want to shoot monsters that a return to simply shooting monsters is worth it.
TLDR: Don't like it, don't follow/buy it.
Doom without Modding?
Sorry but not only DO I expect real modding... Doom and id have a special history regarding "modding"

Doesn't cursing at someone who simply disagrees with you seem rather extreme?
Don't foam at the mouth for someone you pay money to. Brand Loyalty isn't a very healthy moral.
