didnt seem like that given the context, but teso is awful refer to this video as to why
Thank you for this, I had no idea you had to pay 15 a month. Actually let me rephrase that, I heard there was going to be a subscription and thought, "lol not if they want to sell it to people used to playing TES single player." I'm always wrong :suicide:
I had a feeling back during the hoax that because of it, we might hear a small thing about it at this E3. Hopefully at least a teaser confirming that it's coming. High hopes here, but I wouldn't get upset if we didn't see it.
Here's hoping for FO4 and HL3 being shown at E3...if not this year, then next.
When ever half life gets released, I don't think I will care that much nor be excited. Mainly due to the fact of valve taking so long to release HL.
you say that now but i'm almost certain you'd have a different attitude if it actually was announced with a date
Here's hoping for FO4 and HL3 being shown at E3...if not this year, then next.
valve haven't booked for the venue yet, so idk
i hope they take their time and not rush the game. Also i hope they don't use the fucking lowest quality textures.
i hope they take their time and not rush the game. Also i hope they don't use the fucking lowest quality textures.
FO3 was released in 2008, so they've had a good long time to work on it.
I really hope Obsidian is on the team, because from the simplification of their games I'm kind of fearful for how a Bethesda-only Fallout 4 will turn. Unless they really take a look at what New Vegas did better than Fallout 3 I honestly don't know if I would buy it if it's a simplified game with tons of essential NPCs on the Creation Engine.
I still don't get how Skyrim is really that much more "simplified" than Oblivion. Just because the dungeons were all copy-paste Draugr shit or the side quests weren't as good doesn't mean it was simplified. Mechanically, it isn't that different, and you cannot tell me what streamlining they did do was a bad thing. I get we all love Morrowind and Oblivion here, but Morrowind in particular has aged pretty poorly on combat. What gives it strength is the compelling and different world it is set in, where as Skyrim and Oblivion are both styled off the generic fantasy world popular at the time. But that is what scares me. Skyrim isn't simplified, just not as developed and thought out. You could see some creeping aspects of this in Fallout 3's metro-dungeons. But at the same time, Fallout 3 has (in my opinion) the best atmosphere of any Fallout 3 game. It really set up a compelling world, but it lacks the detailed side-quests and characters that Obsidian brought to the table. In a perfect world, it would be a joint effort with Bethesda's design aspects and gameplay, with Obsidian writing the quests. But alas this world is imperfect.
it's not a fallout game if it's based on fallout 3 you mean
i'm not sure if you were paying any actual attention to the series but Interplay's handling of the IP has gone downhill from Tactics onward (fortunately Tactics was still at least decent) sure Bethesda including shit like Jet in FO3 is weird when you dig deep into the lore but it don't hold a fuckin' candle to the Burned Game.
I guess that's a better way of looking at it. I hated the New Vegas environment. All those invisible walls, mountains, and cazadores that artificially limited where I could explore. I like the Capital Wasteland because it was basically a big field where you spawned at the center and could go explore any location in any direction.
that's what i hate about the capital wasteland. it feels like some sort of fallout themed destroyed-city-playground made for the lone wanderer. mojave feels more alive and believable.
that's what i hate about the capital wasteland. it feels like some sort of fallout themed destroyed-city-playground made for the lone wanderer. mojave feels more alive and believable.
Because it is, that's literally what Bethesda had in mind when they made it.
I know its likely already been said, but, Honestly if they could just take the visual and atmospheric attention to detail from fallout 3, and then squish it together with the attention to detail paid to the story, characters, side quests, etc in fallout new vegas- it would likely make the ultimate fallout game. Fallout 3 looks pretty nice, all the props and scenery pieces fit together well and everything looks fairly substantial and realistic- whereas in new Vegas props and scenery pieces often look jarring and out of place, with big bright important objects jutting out of a flat expanse of fuck all every so often and a constant feeling that everything looks a little too empty, bright and static to be real. But on the other hand fallout new vegas has the story and character elements nailed down perfectly, and they all seem to fit together wonderfully with both the in-game setting and the setting of fallout itself. the amount of legitimate impact your choices and actions have on the Mojave wasteland is really really cool, your companions feel like characters instead of murderbots that awkwardly follow you around blasting shit, and the many factions and people you can surround yourself with really make you feel as though you are part of a living post-post apocalyptic society.
That's true, but I still feel as if Obsidian did better with what they had than Bethesda did.
It's not really possible to compare. Obsidian simply did not have as much technical development to do. They more or less could focus entirely on creativity.
319 supporters of 180 needed oh shit prepare yourselfes, I bet Fallout 4 will be in Nebraska or maybe Utah
Because it is, that's literally what Bethesda had in mind when they made it.
whether it was intentional or not doesn't change the fact that it doesn't feel like fallout.

Such as there being quite a lot of unkillable NPCS, no real choices in the game and no journal, hints or any sort of directions for quests other than the arrow that tells you exactly where to go. I enjoyed Skyrim but i hope they don't have problems similar to those in the next Fallout/Elder Scrolls game.
319 supporters of 180 needed oh shit prepare yourselfes, I bet Fallout 4 will be in Nebraska or maybe Utah
Most speculate from a few years back when Bethesda was scouting Boston that the next Fallout would take place in Massachusetts [editline]25th April 2014[/editline] On a note, I have a cute idea. Obsidian/Black Isle/Interplay Fallout is on the West Coast Bethesda Fallout is on the East Coast.
i found whatever the fuck you did in skyrim had pretty much no effect on the main storyline what-so-ever [editline]25th April 2014[/editline] not that i don't like skyrim or anything, but that was painfully dumbed down to make it easier to progress through

And people say Fallout 3 was a bad direction for the series.

Fallout 4 announcement would be great... Resident Evil 2 remake would be even better...
Resident Evil 2 remake would be even better...
Are you in the right thread?
I guess people are still butthurt over the Survivor2990 thing
Are you in the right thread?
No...just daydreaming is all...
I find it highly amusing when people complain about plot holes in fallout 3 that are explained in-game. Like do you play through the game with your eyes blindfolded, rushing past every npc, skipping all the dialog?
I guess people are still butthurt over the Survivor2990 thing
I thought it was fun as hell. It certainly gave us in the Fallout thread something interesting to discuss about.
I thought it was fun as hell. It certainly gave us in the Fallout thread something interesting to discuss about.
I'm still buttmad over the fact that at any point bethesda could have effortlessly stopped it. Why did they let people speculate for as long as they did? Why didn't they just say "yeah it's fake" and be done with it?
What's so unlikely about Fallout 4? Bethesda themselves said they didn't buy the licence just to make one game, Fallout 3 sold very well there's no reason not to make a sequel.
It's a good Possibility. I'm sure it'll mostly be about Evil Within, but at the very least we should except a teaser confirming it.

They've always been that way. I think Todd Howard likes to personally reveal this stuff. I really still do not understand how so many people convinced themselves that it was legit when the whole ordeal was way out of character for Bethesda.
