well that wasnt a drug raiding. I would say that even though I have not seen 1000nds of drug raids I at least have seen enough to know how most go.
I have seen SWAT raids myself. My entire neighborhood was shut down for swat raids. They don't always go down smoothly. A lot of the time they do, this is why they shout "POLICE WARRANT POLICE POLICE" a bunch...
They have several tactics, to decrease the chance of it going sour. There are still instances in which this doesn't happen. Drug raids have potentials (PROVEN POTENTIALS FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES) to end horribly for the officers. The users can become extremely violent, often these drug houses are guarded with automatic weapons or shotguns or something that would be great in resisting robbery themselves.
That is why these officers take such precautions when doing these.

Yes but my point was that most likely that golf club was a golf club and not a gun.
Yes but my point was that most likely that golf club was a golf club and not a gun.
Says who, you?
Police aren't trained to assume the best, you've seen the video, honestly tell me that was a golf club and not something else. All you can see is a small tube-like shiney object, if I was busting into a drug house I wouldn't be thinking 'golfclubs!'
Yes but my point was that most likely that golf club was a golf club and not a gun.
Okay, then you are missing the point...
1. Cops decide to raid house.
2. Drug raids on houses have the potential to be VERY DANGEROUS.
3. Cops don't mess around, everything is 100% serious in drug raids.
4. Cops SHOUT "Police, warrant" blah blah blah blah.
5. Cops bust open door.
6. Guy turns corner with weapon.
7. Cops, who know and are trained to realize that drug raids CAN BE DEADLY see man jumping around corner with a long metallic object.
8. In the best safety for the entire crew. Cops neutralize man with weapon.
i'm still mad at that veteran bullshit
his screams haunt me, i can't get them out of my head whyyy

Yes but since it had a much higher chance of not being a golf club it means he put his life way over his.

The same time spent shooting could have been used turning the corner so he would get shot.
@ People who say he's 'trigger happy'
He had a fucking golf club in his hand once he heard them banging. It's the same thing to them as somebody coming at you with a gun. Your reaction is to shoot on site.

Grounds for search » Whether Todd Blair was a meth dealer
The cops were ready to raid a METH DEALER, they wern't just raiding some guy doing meth, they were prepared to take on a well armed meth dealer. You don't fuck around in this situation. You open the door, you see a guy holding something after being told "SEARCH WARRANT SEARCH WARRANT" you shoot, you don't ask questions, you don't give second chances. The first cop even said "GET ON THE FL-" he cut off his sentence because he noticed he had something in his hand, he didn't just shoot because he saw the guy standing there.
LOOK AT THE VIDEO AS EVIDENCE.
At frame :27 seconds you see the hallwall with no one standing in it. :29 seconds he is standing in a posture ready to strike.
100% justified shooting. I don't see how people are arguing against this. My brain is boggled.
You don't run at a swat team with a golf club. He made a bad decision and the cop protected him self. It's not like they were out side and a guy just picked up a golf club and threatened the cops, then He wouldn't get shot, most likely tasered, but this is a different situation.
Where the hell were all you logical people 12 hours ago?
Most of us have learned not to even bother trying to convince most Facepunchers otherwise since they'll not listen to reason and logic half the time.
GET THE SCREAMS OUT OF MY HEAD

HOW COULD THEY DEFEND THE VETERAN?
HOW!!??!?!?!?!

You're comparing the war on drugs to the Holocaust? Wow as if your credibility hasn't been destroyed enough already.

well they were both misguided and hopefully looked at in the future as something that could have been handled better.

this is how you hold a war spear
a war spear is deadly
a war spear is deadly
Also extremely common with 21st century Utah based meth dealers
Sorry but I don't see anything wrong with this, he looked like he was holding a gun.
This isn't a situation where you have a chance to double-check because if they do have a gun you'd be dead
At first glance I thought it was a large bladed object.
I would have shot him in the same circumstances.
contemplating such things would probably get cops killed a lot
Are you seriously claiming you've been in multiple drug raids featuring big guys with guns, body armour and drug addicts and in none of those there has been any shooting?
One part of that's unbelievable, the other is just stupidly false.
I have. I lived in the worst part of my town and before I moved out 4 houses on my side of the street were unoccupied due to drug raids. Fresno PD is dealing with meth up to their ears.
I've seen people be taken down with tasers and batons and but I have never heard a shot fired.

50
And how many years of SWAT training have you had?
Because SWAT training takes a human and turns him into a superhuman
You heard it here first guys.
And how many years of SWAT training have you had?
None, but all of those years of training mean next to nothing in those situations.
Seriously, roleplay this out in the time of the video. You DO NOT KNOW it is a golf club. You do know if it is a machete. You are entering the home of a suspected large scale meth dealer; a high risk warrant [officers get killed serving these, so imagine you are about as on edge as you can get]. The man runs out in a span of 2 seconds, wielding a long weapon and in 2-3 more could be on you and ending your life. A fireplace poker can be as deadly as a machete, just in case you did not know.
Think about that for a minute, because I doubt you have ever been in such a situation.

Adding to this, anyone heard of the 21 feet rule?
It's a principle they teach all officers in regards to knife/blunt weapon wielding threats, that an average human can cover 21 feet in 1.5 seconds. That's 6 meters in 1.5 seconds.
1.5 seconds to judge the situation, aim, and fire.

Which is why I said 2-3 seconds.
Still hardly enough time to react effectively.

you can do a lot in 2-3 seconds
you can do a lot in 2-3 seconds
Okay, 1.8 seconds in the tip of the golf club [or fireplace poker] comes down side of your neck [seeing as he know has a 6 foot reach], effectively stunning you. 3 whacks to the face later and you are in a vegetative state and won't wake up for lord knows how long.
Yes, your cop buddies will likely take him down before he kills you, but you are looking at large amounts of muscular and neurological damage and years of recovery.
This is all heresy, of course.
