We'll get into Ћ game when Ћ game is ready.
There's now an issue tracker for the Mac and Linux client: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues
this Ћ shit won't become a thing. you should probably stop.
can't wait til mods start banning people for using it
I lost interest in the game when I found out I was penalized for 24 hours for having to take a shit and abandoning a bot vs player game, then the next day abandoning again to eat dinner. I'm not MLG enough to skip on bodily needs to play a game for what could be upwards of 40-50 minutes. Maybe Player vs Player I'd be more understanding of how much of a dick move that is, but against bots who's taking it serious when I don't think it even really counts towards your win/losses.
Where are my long overdue Rise of Immortals updates?

Abandoning twice won't get you a 48 hour low priority punishment. Also just because it's a bot game doesn't mean that the players that play it are less important. If I recall, there was a time where you didn't get punished for abandoning bot games. Usually people just abandoned like half way through so it really wasn't fun. Abandoning games affect everyone that plays, not just you.
lego legends was on steam for some time but then it was removed for being dead game
so dead that its more popular than dota 2
so dead that its more popular than dota 2
Hey, Internet Logistics Team, we need a SarcMark here! On the double, we have a critical broken sarcasm detector situation here! EDIT: We should probably stop with this Ћ shit for now, now people are just using it ironically.
Abandoning games affect everyone that plays, not just you.
This is true for both bot & PvP games, but I feel like a better system could be in place. What if you're dealing with a real asshole of a teammate and you want to get out of that game? What if it happens twice? You should have a right to remove yourself from a situation without being penalized. And user bans often take awhile to put in place, so a destructive player isn't necessarily removed from the game until weeks (and, therefore, dozens of games) have passed. Dantai has a good point too that DOTA 2 relies on the idea that you have the free time to play DOTA 2. Not that you should be playing when you have other things to do; granted, if you have to go somewhere or do homework, plan your time out and don't play a 45 minute video game. But, DOTA takes for granted that nothing pressing will come up while you play. Family emergencies, phone calls, unexpected visitors, etc aren't taken into account within the game - and there's a good deal of players who couldn't care less about pausing for teammates/opponents when that happens. It creates a situation where you could lose precious time because your doctor calls about an appointment in two days. And I can't count how many times an opponent has tried to take an extended pause session as an opportunity to steer the game into their favor (and, likewise, how many times they've actually succeeded). EDIT: Not to mention, abandoning issues are huge for people with Internet problems too. One of my friends was always in LP because his internet would randomly fail on him every few games. At times it would be for days.
What is the difference between this and the Early Access Sign-up? The game is officially released. We'll be letting in new users as fast as our server infrastructure allows.
The difference is that the servers are going to be slower, thanks for announcing this.
You only get penalized for abandoning if you consistently abandon. Dota 2 is a great game. [sp] but it's fucking boring and I love it to bits at the same time oh god someone help me. [/sp]
Dota 2 is a great game. [sp] but it's fucking boring and I love it to bits at the same time oh god someone help me. [/sp]
Play with friends.
I've played dota for a long time (i dont' remember the year, but i remember the dota maps before allstars became popular). The community is a bit volatile, and the learning curve is pretty steep. But it's such a fun game, especially with friends. I can see the hate for it, but it's my goto PVP game. I'd be willing to help anyone play if they're interested, I know my shit yo.
Play with friends.
That's the reason I still love Dota today.
Play with friends.
Yeah, DOTA 2 is always best with friends. Although even then, playing with friends who want to help you get better and respect your mistakes is even better. Someone who has rage issues playing DOTA is still a liability, even if he/she's a friend. In one case from way back in late 2011/early 2012, I use to host Facepunch inhouses for FP DOTA 2 players who were still new to the game. Now and then I use to invite this one friend of mine named Timrod. For some reason, he couldn't handle himself inside the game. He would rage during setup if the lanes weren't properly aligned to his fitting. And I'm not talking bullshit setups like two supports and two carries - if he felt like two heroes were just slightly off together, he would flip out about it regardless of whether the lane was a nice fit. If he felt like the hero choices were just slightly off, or he picked a jungle character and someone else already had jungle, he would freak out and leave the game. It was so bad, one time he ragequit 30 seconds into a game, removed me from Steam friends, and told me never to invite him to a game of DOTA ever again. And then readded me on Steam 5 minutes later. So yeah, I agree play with friends. As long as they're level-headed folks too :v:.
There's a tutorial now if that was your problem.
generally that's not the issue for new players usually it's because the complexity of the game is offputting, and the community is incredibly acidic. i mean, holy shit, i've met a bunch of fucking morons in my 6 hours of playing dota 2. the worst part is that you can't leave the game or mute them because the game is super reliant on teamwork and communication.
so dead that its more popular than dota 2
if popular = better then pewdiepie is the best videogame related youtuber also you should get your sarcmark checked out [editline]10th July 2013[/editline]
There's a tutorial now if that was your problem.
the tutorial is pretty bad tbh They picked sniper, which isn't a very good noobfriendly hero. He requires good positioning or he dies so easily. Yes, he seems easy on the top but his shit damage, squishyness, lack of an escape mechanism, ect....don't go well with new people. (Doesn't help they recommended fucking ARCANE BOOTS AND A BASI on him). I recommend new people play mostly supports, as those are by far the easiest to play and learn. It didn't go over denying or stacking before you pull. I think another thing it should have went over was sentries/dust, warding, and not autoattacking creeps.
I still don't have dota 2. Denied every invite that I got.
very bad ass, i bet you are good at fighting
sick

I've played a couple of matches with the Facepunch guild and they were pretty alright.
its gotten better with that, i used to say the offhand insult or nigger and recently i was banned for a day of chat for saying either of the things
yeah, that's what i like about dota despite how much i bitch about it if you're a big dumb shitlord you'll get your shittalking priviliges taken away. [editline]9th July 2013[/editline]
You should try joining the Facepunch guild in Dota 2 and join a party.
if they are being retards they wont have anything important to say so you can mute them, same as any other game
Sometimes the most volatile people are also the ones actively leading your team. It ends up where you're having some moron dissing everyone on their team, but also trying to organize the rest of the team team together for ganks and tower defense. so it's a lose-lose situation no matter what you do - you either sever your communication with your team's most experienced player, or you put up with another 20 minutes of a teammate taking out his frustration on the rest of his team.
