Weird New Forms of Bacterial Life Found in the Dead Sea
The insane salinity keeps pretty much everything afloat.
I was seriously tempted to float on my back and paddle from the resort beach to the other side of the sea.
But once I got so far out that I couldn't see the seabed anymore I freaked out because I thought an Ichtyosaur would come up from below and eat me.
too much half life
These bacterias most likely didn't exist in their current form when the sea was still normal. I don't understand how people can disbelieve in evolution when it's litterally happening in front of their eyes. The same goes for flu-viruses who have evolved to resist drugs and medicines.
Tips for going in the dead sea.
Don't shave any time near to going in the dead sea
Do not fart when you are in the dead sea, it fucking hurts for some reason
Do not urinate when you are in the dead sea (This is the most painful one), apparently there is a tiny amount of suction when you urinate and so you are essentially stuffing salt down your urinary tract.
When I went, I managed to get it in my eyes, blindly flail about onto land, fall over from being blind, cut my knee open by landing on a rock, burn my feet on the ground from not being able to see my shoes. It was still awesome though.

did you piss yourself
Why don't we start diverting some fresh water back into it to fix what we broke
It was still dead when we made it even saltier, there's no reason to pump in some fresh water.

Not in the sea, everyone was warned strongly against it.
