Trump hails 'invisible' plane in remarks to coast guard: 'The enemy cannot see it'
But sniping every single comment Trump makes does not contribute anything to anybody.
This story isn't newsworthy.
It was an event that reporters were invited to so I guess the White House disagrees.
Going to hurricane-devastated Puerto Rico to tell them how you'll be spending hundreds of millions on Air Force jets. How Trumplike.
Oh don't worry, he did say they were ordering millions of dollars of fighter planes, but that was before downplaying the cost and talking about how they'd reduced it:
“That’s an expensive plane you can’t see. As you heard, we cut the price very substantially. Something that other administrations would never have done – that I can tell you.”
Although later, when talking with the coast guard, he then seemed to take pride in the military spending:
“We’re ordering tremendous amounts of new equipment – we’re at $700bn for the military. And, you know, they were cutting back for years. They just kept cutting, cutting, cutting the military. And you got lean, to put it nicely. It was depleted, was the word. And now it’s changing.”
"What Trump actually meant was..."
Is it that hard to accept stupid people say stupid shit? Even the quote you posted doesn't save anything, nowhere in the quote does it say he meant radar visible.
What is up with this hostility? I'm one of the last people who would ever defend Trump. I called out "this is what Trump means" in a past thread and have done it many times:
I don't understand how there's always this massive definition stretching and hopping and then confusion on why people are reading what the president said exactly as he said. How else are you going to read "most of them didn’t make calls" other than "most of them didn’t make calls"? Like, he said it, out of his own mouth. Going "he meant they made letters instead" is such a lame twist of his words to make him sound less stupid than he is when it's so obvious what he means.
I'm tired of the semantics bullshit.
I don't understand why you jumped down my throat as if I've done this multiple times in the past when this is the first time I've ever done it. Pretty offended that you seem to be implying I defend shit he says, honestly.
This is wrong though, the F-35 has better stealth than the F-22, plus it's hard to put new stealth technology into F-22s when their production has ended

What's your source on this?
I'm on my phone, but look up the radar cross sections of the aircraft. The F-22 is as close to zero as is possible. The F-35 is small, but not nearly as small as the F-22. On top of this, the F-22 maintains a negligible cross section in more orientations than the f-35. The trade-off is the F-22 has to spend more hours on the ground because its skin is fragile and a major component of it's stealth capabilities.
Ever wonder why the F-22 can't be exported? The F-35 was supposed to be the cheaper multirole exportable model.

I was always under the impression that the f-35 was a compromise on stealth because of the multi mission and its need to have a lower price tag, whereas the f-22 was straight up to be stealthy as possible to boost in its air superiority role. Also the f-22 production was stopped but supposedly in a way that production could be resumed if congress were to order it done.
It's fairly well known that I don't like Trump or his administration, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one and assume he meant "on radar" because I find it hard to believe that anyone, even Trump, is dumb enough to think something is literally invisible to the human eye.
I dislike Trump too but this seems completely fine to say. If you take the last quotes out of context he sounds stupid but with this part it doesn't. Like I know he says it's "literally" invisible but people have been using that as emphasis for a while now.
I agree with you, but to be honest, any decent person at their job who's job it is to communicate something would think twice about using the word litterally in any technical context. It shows that Trump is stupid, but not that stupid.

Still not going to stop us making fun of him for saying something stupid. His job requires good communication skills. If he can't get his point across clearly then he's pretty damned incompetent at his job. Then again this is Trump so he's completely unqualified to begin with.
So people who dislike Trump aren't people?
Oh yeah, because you have a fox on your avatar. Even animals hate him too.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, I'm just tired of seeing people doing this in other threads pretty much every time Trump speaks and I guess I just blew up on you.
It's just that he's the POTUS, he shouldn't need people to continuously decode and excuse every single thing he says due to him being a god awful speaker, maybe he meant radar invisible, maybe he didn't, in the end, it's his fault for always speaking this ambiguously, not yours, I'm sorry.

Nah it's fine. I understand why. Like you said a ton of people do it, over and over and over. You just come to expect it and I can imagine it being irritating to the point where you finally want to speak out about it.
Hell, the post I linked of mine is me doing this exact thing. No worries!
