Pope Francis orders 'decisive action' on child sex abuse
Why are people still expecting Francis to overhaul the church in two months.

Because he has the power to.
It's not like a president where you have to deal with a congress and get stuff voted on, the pope can go ahead and make sweeping changes any time he wants. People don't have to listen, but if the pope starts making huge changes that help prevent child abuse who is going to want to be on the opposing side
I'll give him a year before beginning judging him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Yeah, he has the power to, sure. But doing that would bring public outrage and forced resignation. It's not the monarchy people make it out to be - the Pope can't just implement his own personal views on things like LGBT rights and women's rights, which everyone complains about.
Child abuse? Yeah, sure, he's working on it. I don't see why it's an issue that it didn't take a day. He's already said that moving the abusers was a terrible idea. My comment was directed towards the constant bitchery about homosexuality and women in the church, not the child abuse.

I don't see how he's working on it. He hasn't done anything. He's said things. Good for him, he can claim he will do things and get people on his side
I'd much rather have him do those things and shut up.

I think an order is him doing something. It's not like he can visit every catholic church and root them out himself. Ordering decisive action is about as much as he can do.

he didn't order much of anything here
i can say I want something done, hell, even demand it
but he didn't lay out any plan as to how he was going to do that
if this pope personally executed all priest pedos, and abolished all anti-gay church beliefs, you guys still wouldn't be fucking satisfied with this guy.
I, for one, respect the man.

Yeah, we should just be satisfied with all he's done so far, such as:

It's been less than a month...
It's been less than a month...
Well done. You've missed the point. Let me quote his post again and offer an explanation:
if this pope personally executed all priest pedos, and abolished all anti-gay church beliefs, you guys still wouldn't be fucking satisfied with this guy.
The reason this statement is wrong because in that scenario, he would have done something; contrast this to the current state of papal affairs, where he has done nothing. The implication of his statement is that we should be satisfied with what he has already done, even though that is, as mentioned, nothing.
More like a month. Still, it's early yet.
