Alyx might be a bit weird to control as she seems to work best as an NPC, but the biggest thing I want to see is multple paths a map would literally have secondary tunnels, possibly even separating two players by force. This will give the chaos of no longer having a buddy along side you. if I did a game I'd totally work around coop play like GTA5 for single player but ability to have 3 other players like in L4D, and at any moment, by force, people will be separated. Either 1 and 3, or all 4.
And each character could have their own play style. Gordon would a conventional FPS unsubtle force of nature+tank, Alyx would pull technical tricks and melee deadliness- maybe a bit of sneaking and alternate route stuff too, Barney would use smoke grenades, flashbangs and high accuracy shooting but would be rather delicate compared to Gordon and a Vortigaunt would carry out crowd control, healing, and AoE vortessence tricks but would be unable to use conventional arms.
I have no idea how valve is going to pull HL3 off. I mean, there are already so many games out there with awesome story lines and visual effects. HL2 had that, but only back in the day when it was released. The Standards now are way higher, and HL2 has aged a lot. Valve really should of released half life 3 years ago.
With so many titles being console optimized, they leave much to be desired visually. And you can make a successful sequel to an old game. e.g. Deus Ex.
The last time we saw Half-Life on a console, EA molested the PS3 port harder than.......well, it was REALLY bad.
Molested it? It has not received a single update, but it's totally functional. Gonna be honest: PS3's orange box is how I got into Valve's stuff at all. Half Life 2 from 8 feet away and with a joystick is actually really great.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the continuation of Episode Two, Half Life 3? Or will there be an EP3? I'm not sure if Valve ever established that. All I know (as far as I know) is that they once said HL3 would feature a new arc, without Gordon?
Hopefully if it's announced it does get released on PS4. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline]
The last time we saw Half-Life on a console, EA molested the PS3 port harder than.......well, it was REALLY bad.
Well apparently the PS3 version of Portal 2 was decent, so.

Then after Episode 2 they've said that the Episode format didn't work, though they didn't mention Episode 3 or Half Life 3. So I don't know.
The only thing that's truly known about Half Life 3 is that it is a game. On another note, I have a feeling there will be some choice involved with the Borealis and Aperture's boat technology, considering they made a medium-sized deal in providing both Kleiner's and Eli's view about what to do with it.

gods no
I'm pretty sure I'm one of the people who won't be disappointed. Even if it's not revolutionary and 10/10, I have no doubt it's going to be a great game and to be honest I never liked the original Half-Life 2 for it's gameplay nor it's graphics so much, I just want to know what happens next in the story - that's what got me hooked. So as long as it's enjoyable and up to standards, I won't really care as long as I get to know what happened/happens after Episode 2. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline]
and Barney

Co-Op with Gordon and Alyx seems like the most logical move for a Half-Life game.
4 player campaing Co-Op as Gordon, Alyx, Barney and *Insert New Really Cool Character*. That would be pretty cool, imagine if they did that and then added a Left 4 Half-Dead multiplayer mode or something which is basically just L4D but with the characters above and the Half-Life universe :v: I also wonder if they're gonna tie in the Portal story into the game even more with HL3?
You know you don't need to slap multiplayer onto everything, right?
You know you don't need to slap multiplayer onto everything, right?
Ofcourse not, but multiplayer doesn't aautomatically make single-player games bad either, so why not? I can name several sequals that have added/expanded multiplayer/co-op and still stayed true to the game: Mount & Blade: Warband Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow & Chaos Theory Assassins Creed: Brotherhood Warcraft II Portal 2 Max Payne 3 The Total War series Fable 2 GTA IV Etc.
I can't find anything on it being fake. It costs a lot of money to file something like that.
haha i remember when i was a young stupid fool and after the orange box came out i would obsessively check xbox live marketplace every other week because valve said they were planning on releasing Ep3 through it like I said, a young stupid fool
Watch as HL3 isn't a game, but real. I mean Gabe Newell traveled back in time and decided to make games after what happened, then when valve announces HL3, Boom, resonance cascade!
Hey guys remember when we waited for episode 2 after the end of episode 1 and a year was a long time? :v:
HL3 is an iOS casual game for iphone, I'm calling it.
I've figured it all out man, the first half of the game will take place in the arctic where you search for the Borealis, and find out the Combine already beat you to it and took the Aperature tech with them, then the second half will take place in the ruins of Black Mesa (which only partly got destroyed because the rift was still open and absorbed most of the nuclear blast), where you must prevent the Combine from opening another superportal, this time in the rift itself with the tech.

What if valve released a version of Hl2 that has the early story? Like a special edition or something.
What if valve released a version of Hl2 that has the early story? Like a special edition or something.
Why would they? What would that do to expand the story? What would bringing back gameplay and a story they deemed unsatisfactory accomplish?
I would hope for it be longer than HL2 ( like an hour or so more longer/Extra)
the game should have no less than 50,000 achievements.
valve won't deliver until they're confident that the community has lost all hope, and like jesus on the cross, collectively cries out "my god, why have you forsaken me?" only then will half life 3 be released and our faith in Gaben is restored and tears will be wept for the miracle he has given us.
I hope they do something huge for Half Life 3 because after all this time and losing all my hype for half life 3 I need something to rebuild my lost of interest other than leaked details. Need an amazing trailer
Bullshit, all I need is a pitch-black background with a white HL3 logo and I will literally sacrifice myself for Gaben.
