Oh don't even start acting like being a publicly traded company makes you some how more responsible, that is distinctly not reflected by reality.
can you even play games?
what
web pages store info.
steams web pages are storing info and not dealing with it correctly, they're caching private data, and redistributing other people to those private links.
by activating your page, you load your info into the web page, you load your stuff into the cache. By doing so, you put your info into the cache to be redistributed.
so all people would have seen is what I'd seen of other peoples accounts? just the last digits of cards, and email addresses? Thats it? They wont have seen the fuckin full extent of my card details?
people seeing my email and shit like that fucks me off but as long as they didn't actually get my proper card info i can tolerate it for now
can someone just tell me if by unlinking my card details during this debacle has actually put me at serious risk? will people be able to view all the details of my credit card and how?
its just a cache
no actual "cookie" information is sent in the headers thus not allowing you to preform any account actions.
also by the rate its chancing each minute, somebody actually getting your information is highly unlikely.
i dont think you understand how credit cards work but they need all your numbers, not just your last 4 ( and your full card number is not even accessible )

It's also the only reason they've ever been good. Publically traded EA is just the best friend to everyone, right?
Remember, /v/ loves to watch the Steam burn. They're just fanning the flames.
Phone number, email adress, home adress and name is some pretty private stuff, especially if you're a known youtuber or a high-end trader.
now im regretting joining all those porn groups

we've told you.
just monitor your online banking info if you're really paranoid about it.

Its best not to update stuff just because its a newer version. That is how you get issues like this.

You can't see your full credit card in your account, that'd be fucking stupid.

Still a problem as they can have all the billing info.
I've tested it, you cannot buy things at all, with others' details or your own.
The worst thing about this is the personal information leak, the worst of which is your phone number and last 2 digits of your credit card.
We still don't know for sure, though. Maybe there's someone out there who does have this ability. For all we know, that could be true. We could know if valve was structured properly, and had actual PR people to explain situations, but they don't, and so we're left confusing on even what to do besides absolutely nothing.
I'm pretty sure steam actually doesn't allow 2000$+ of shit to be bought at once

yeah thats all im trying to figure out. so there's no way they could have seen my full card details then yeah?
Are our passwords at risk of being changed without our consent?
I'd still rather suck dick than use Origin the way I use Steam
IDK, I'd happily fellate someone if it meant I'd get free games, better refund policies, customer support that actually works, reasonable sales (50% of BF4 like 5 months after it's release), better download speeds and servers that don't go down every hour.
yeah thats all im trying to figure out. so there's no way they could have seen my full card details then yeah?
no, but if you had a credit card stored they could see your address
Are our passwords at risk of being changed without our consent?
You still need your password and access to your email to be able to change someones password as far as I know, so you should be fine.
yeah thats all im trying to figure out. so there's no way they could have seen my full card details then yeah?
legally cant show that anyways
Time to move to Origin boys
Implying they haven't had worse happen?
So a guy claimed without proof that his account was frozen, and you post that on like that happened without proof he even said it.
You're right I just made it up for no reason and no one actually said it during one of the 5 million conversations currently taking place about the issue
no, but if you had a credit card stored they could see your address
ok i can deal with that for now, at least my money isn't at risk, dont really have time at this stage to get cards cancelled 'n' shit.
Hacking? Who needs hacking? We weren't hacked! We'll do the hacking for you! All the private information you could desire free for everyone! Merry Christmas!

nginx updates rapidly. 1.4.6 has only been out for about 2 years. that's like complaining that windows 8 is outdated
Am I remembering wrong or does steam always ask for the security code on the back of the card, even with saved payment info?
IDK, I'd happily fellate someone if it meant I'd get free games, better refund policies, customer support that actually works, reasonable sales (50% of BF4 like 5 months after it's release), better download speeds and servers that don't go down every hour.
As much as people shit on EA (mostly rightfully), Origin is better in just about every way over steam for all the reasons you state.

Technically, if they know the issuer, they only need the last twelve. The first four are the card issuer ID.
