Major Steam glitch - Fixed - Nobody in here knows what monopoly means

I've been having STEAMGAMES.COM in my bank info since the last few years. Not defending the other guy, though.

But it's always funny to see people shouting "HAHA LIAR STEAMGAMES LOL" like they know everything.
I'm fucking done with Steam.
First a fucking month of my account in the hands of some russian shitstain, now this bullshit? They done fucked up. I want the money spent on all non bundle or gift games returned to my bank account and my steam account completely fucking deleted, this is unacceptable.
This is the worst fucking security fuckup I have ever seen, its unbelieveable. I probably wont even get a fucking email if another shitstain ends up with my games in their disgusting dirty hands.
This is the third and last time Steam has fucked me up.
Unfortunately a lot of games on pc that have physical copies require steam as a DRM afaik, so you'd be shit out of luck when it comes to getting rid of Steam.
Unless this incident presents a push back towards using physical copies rather then using a digital service with how unreliable Valve customer support is sometimes, which I'd be all for.
I just wanna play games on Christmas Valve, why you gotta be like this.
no one is stopping you from playing games.
It's 300$ worth of games, not 2000
I mean I could see it as a fuckup on valve's side, cause I almost bought GTA for someone (I got their cart, and it had GTA, Blops 3, etc, and I bought for myself (aka them). It went and had their wallet and card options avaliable.
when purchasing on steam you need your cvc code from the back of your card no matter what automatic payments you sign up.
Even if you set up a direct debt with valve.
like valve still doesnt bother to have a division for customer support?
theyre not even trying and are just practically telling their other staff to go check up on support everyday which probably results in scrolling through support tickets or copy pasting answers to people
I don't get what you're trying to say. Are you trying to say Valve has lousy support? Yes, they do. Origin has way better support? Yeah, they do. What are you trying to tell me, exactly...

Alright I'm glad to hear you bought $230 worth of Steam games this morning
EDIT: ^ that was a joke, but that really proves nothing

It's weird because no one else reported anything like this happening yet, which you would think would be common if it was a prevalent issue. Are you sure this isn't just from an earlier purchase?
If I made my purchases today with the Steam Wallet cards, would I be safe since I didn't use a credit card?
Well, yeah, they've always been helpful and have gotten the problem solved for me but it takes them ridiculous amounts of time to respond to even the simplest things. I've (personally) never had an issue with the quality of the service but rather how fast I get it.
No way. It seems like every time I talk to steam support they misinterpret my question and think i'm asking something else, or just lie and tell me the problem is on the developer's end and telling me to go there, when really it's steam's fault.
What personal information is exposed?
Your steam wallet balance, your address, the last four digits on your credit card. Your email address and your username.
Do a lot of sites still use last four digits as authentication?
All of that is still information I wouldn't want falling into the wrong hands.

I've purchased things using a savedd card and it never asked my cvc/cvv2 code
So people can see my address?
Cool, I'm gonna cook some sweet :v:
no one is stopping you from playing games.
Forgive me when I say I aint touching steam until this shit blows over.
And I mean online games. Of course I can still play singleplayer games, but even going on steam for that one minute to go on offline mode is too much for me.
Stupid, I know, But with people saying this can/this can't happen over and over, it's not worth the risk imo.
Shame you can't go online though. I wanted to play something but now I can't get online to the service, online offline mode for now. Damn.

Yes, even if you used a card you would be fine.
seriously guys. No one can proove either way that something has happened. Just drop it and time will tell if it's real or not.
false
sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt for me
purchasing from the UK, it always asks for my cvc, it seems to vary between region.
Doesn't Steam censor your card number in your details so really no one should be able to do much with the rest of your card information unless they have your number, right?
or am I being a retard idk
Yes, even if you used a card you would be fine.
I asked because I don't want some random person to know my address, but I don't remember seeing it when I was buying games today as I used a $50 Wallet card and didn't edit my payment info.
i dunno why you guys are ragging on that dude who posted a thing from his bank, it's entirely possible that a sensitive cookie was leaked from the cache and someone then used it to buy a ton of shit. quit acting like you're all IT professionals because you're all doing a fine job at embarrassing yourselves.
we do not know the exact nature of what is going on here besides it being an issue with a caching server gone haywire, and we only know that from third parties and not valve themselves. everyone thinks they're fucking john carmack all of the sudden because they heard someone on the internet say "all your data is safe don't worry".

So it just got refunded?? Cancelled? gg either way?
I wonder how valve will compensate for this fiasco.

Also this made me laugh pretty good, cause I was legit in the middle of a heartattack/anger
I wonder how valve will compensate for this fiasco.
They won't most likely.
Most likely give away a game or two since people can't actually access your money.
I wonder how valve will compensate for this fiasco.

purchasing from the UK, it always asks for my cvc, it seems to vary between region.
Doesnt always ask me in the UK.
I wonder how valve will compensate for this fiasco.
Free copy of TF2.
instant refunds?

not if the transaction is cancelled on the vendors end. I've had amazon instantly refund me immediately after buying something I didn't want.
