Major Steam glitch - Fixed - Nobody in here knows what monopoly means
Gog most definitely competes. So does Origin, see the origin exclusive titles.
If you're going to throw those out of the window for bullshit reasons, how about Amazon Digital, or Walmart, etc.
They objectively do not compete, Valve doesn't have to fight to be the service people choose for EA games or old games, because EA sells games on origin and GoG has a lot of stuff that isn't on steam. Amazon digital and Walmart aren't competitors either, becuase they just sell games that activate on steam. Do you know what a monopoly or competition are?
Hey, quick question, is it possible for a user to see game keys of games that you purchased on the steam store? And if so could said page have been affected by the bug?
Only through the steam client.
Steam really needs to fix there shit they clearly need more employees

I guess the witcher 3 is an old game.
They definitely compete, I don't know how you can say they don't. If they didn't, they wouldn't be in service.
Looks like you made a friend :v:
The only good thing that came out of this steam mess.
Honestly I feel pretty safe.
holmes, people had access to other people's confidential info that can be shared with ease.
that's not v safe m8.
Uplay
yeah no, Uplay isn't even close to being a competitor
nobody thinks "hmm, do i buy this game on steam or Uplay???"
It appears they've fixed it: I've just visited the store page through incognito mode.
And... its back up.
Its back up.
I don't expect a statement until they're sure its fixed.
Store is back up for me, anyone else?
Appears they might have logged everyone out, too. Safe call.
So are you ignoring how it shows your phone number, home address, and real name, or conveniently forgetting
You mean information that so many people willingly share on social media sites? The information that is plastered to every single letter you get (sans the phone)? I mean, clearly it isn't ideal that this information was being leaked, but to act like it's this massive issue is ridiculous.
You know what is a massive issue? Your entire life in minute detail being leaked due to the incompetence of OPM.
I don't need to cite sources to say that Steam has a pretty disproportionately large amount of control over the market, if the game isn't published by EA or Ubisoft, it's incredibly likely that it is a Steam exclusive.
Thats a good way to disprove your point if you're not willing to prove it. I have open arms for valid proof.
Oh, you don't like using Steam for your physical games?
Oh, our company actually packages games and Steam togetherrr.
Well, can you unpackage them so we can just play the physical games on their own?
Sorry, our company doesn't work that wayyy. You want me to give you the url of a serious digital gaming compet-oh we're it, aren't we?
snip
they probably haven't said anything because they're looking for the actual cause of the issue. That being said valve's PR is still shit
Store is back up for me, anyone else?
The store is back for me as well.

Wonder who owns GoG?

You do know that CDPR makes Witcher right? of course they're going to sell the game they make on their own service
they don't compete because they focus on a small niche that valve doesn't fill. nobody thinks "hmmm, do I buy this new game on GoG or steam" becuase usually it's not on gog at all
nobody is going to be able to use gog as an alternative to steam because you can't buy the same vast wealth of games on gog that you can on steam
Now, what is alternative to steam, an actual competitor that makes you question which service to use? clearly you know of one, otherwise you wouldn't be acting as if they exist
Wonder who owns GoG?
cd-projekt
Its an example. You can't just say they only sell old and indie games when its not true.
Several people use GOG over Steam.
Is the bug still there?
honestly even using witcher as an example shows how little research you actually did. literally a basic google of who owns gog will tell you they made witcher

I normally use GOG for exclusively playing old games.

Honestly I don't get why you're so confident. Yes, all your letters have your address on them, but posting/having your address on the internet is an easy way to get bombarded by pizzas and cardboard boxes if you get any attention.
Games with larger budgets will of course use a service with DRM however.
I guess they fixed it
